more UPs than DOWNS

Yes, but "up" sentiment is in freefall. It seems like that would be important to note.

so.....I should buy now right?

There's almost always more ups than downs.
I fail to see any obvious correlation in the data. There are huge spikes of enthusiasm in late 2012 where the price hardly moved, and now sentiment is in freefall even during the post-crash rally.

sentiment looks good

I don't understand. Charts show sentiment in freefall. Not sure how much credence I lend it, but, yeah.

I have added a CLONE ME feature to the widget: http://bitcoinsentiment.com/w001.php?id=888888888

When you click on the link, you get the HTML code for the widget making it easy to copy+paste it to other websites. Since the "new" widget also have the clone me feature the widget stand a better chance of being propagated to new hosts.

The number of voters is increasing all of the time. From what I can see it is very much thanks to the widgets. Since the widgets plays such an important roll I have created a referrers page, where the sites referring to bitcoinsentiment.com or sites including the widget is listed as a kind of a "thank you".

Thank you very much for all of your voting!  Kiss

Created new chart to visualize sentiment, using this formula (up-down)/down. It provides another perspective on the data.

New feature added.

Look at the charts page and scroll down and you will see the price of Bitcoin (MtGox) for the last 365 days together with up/down ratio. The ratio show how many voted that price would go up, divided by how many thought it would go down.

now we're getting somewhere Smiley just need at least 100 volume; need more people to vote

Thanks for the encouragement!

I am focusing on increasing the volume right now. I think that widgets are THE way to increase the volume. Though I have not really done any promotion there are already sites out there that have included the widget. I have contacted the site owners and asked for their feedback and so forth and so on.

I have listened to their input and I am right now focusing on improving the widget system. Those who put the widget on their site will be featured on a special "Supporters" page (had not had time to code it yet)

I have also created a ratio page http://bitcoinsentiment.com/?id=1025 where you can view BTC performance measured in terms of other assets classes such as gold and S&P 500.

Though it might now be visible I am working continuously (while juggling full time job, writing a book and taking care of one month old baby) on improving on the site.

I am committed long term to this project!  So.... _thanks_ for voting and spreading the sites everyone!   Cheesy

What kind of other polls would you like to see?

What price will today's daily candle close at?
What price will this weeks weekly candle close at?

IDK maybe word it differently.... but I'd like to be able to see / vote for, sentiment for short, mid, and long term.

also maybe a sentiment poll for how people feel about the projects overall dev. growth, are we going "Bitcoin Speed"?

Great feedback. I will see what I can do to about introducing more polls! I am a little worried that people would be discouraged if there are too many polls when they first visit the site - but there have to be a way of adding it anyway!

I think your suggestion on poll about peoples feeling about the project itself is interesting. I have not even considered those kinds of sentiment polls.

Hmm, I guess what ever poll there is, the phrasing would have to stay the same over time without loosing its validity. It would have to be general enough to be valid over time but specific enough to capture peoples sentiment.

This is NOT useful. Only vote based on real money is useful like Bitfinex sentiment index
