updates from Mr_MarKus this morning

I got called to work again for 1-3 days for 10 hr days.  Its a job i can drive to so, i should be able to still get work done on the trader updates.  I tweeded about current update plans.
In addition, I am, at the same time, building a totally new revamp of the trader and will be slowly revealing what that is.
ccex, charting graphs
more auto arb improvements and addition of cryptsy
i gotta goto work now.. be back in the evening

This is a bot trader coin in the end, the bot isn't that smart yet

Nope, it's a really dumb user who is doing that.
He harms us all, for his own interests.

Bad vibes for the bot;
and to hide large parts of the truncated order book ...
... harms everyone because it hides essential information.

Perhaps that whole function should be removed,
or at least restricted to a max number of repetitions.
Or limit the total number of orders per user per market?

The exchanges could also rewrite their views on the orderbook, and
aggregate all neighbouring orders within (recent amplitude divided by 50)
- but that would be information loss, too. And what is "recent" during a rally, or flashcrash?
And anyways, then we could not put our order positions as finely tuned anymore.

((hah, another idea: A parabolic step function which shows orders around the current price finer grained than far away. Exchange: Contact me, I program that for you :-) ))

But they ... just wouldn't rewrite all of their views, is my feeling.

When I asked about the same thing in August, I got this message from a major exchange:

Quote
As far as orderbook manipulation goes, we do take steps to remove malicious or abusive bots when we find them.

my answer to him was:

Quote
Bots can be used in an acceptable, and in an malicious way.
It's much less the bot than the customer who is using a bot in that way.
To me it seems as if it makes more sense to warn the respective user,
and if he doesn't stop, block his trading access.

You could ask the exchanges to make a function that hides buy/sell orders under a certain value/amount . Problem solved.

I hate bots that put an order and half a second later take it away and always same amount and value. This repeats many times

When using the auto tools ping/pong... can it be possible to leave the order if yours is the one still at the top of the book? Seems unnecessary to cancel and put another order in...
That would make sense, and be exchange friendlier.

All great ideas. And I really like the 'troll box' idea.

Forgot another really important:

Once in Trader - And with the order book open, for example we have 1 BTC and want to buy VOOT, if we click certain order, the values will be pasted in the BUY and SELL sections. Well, after this if we press in our BTC amount (in green on top-right) it should auto calculate exactly how much VOOT it could purchase with that 1 BTC in the case the order is over 1 BTC value.

Thanks,

Eth.

+1, I was under the impression this was to be added in the 2.x release.... hope to see it soon.

Hi Markus.

Thanks for the job you're doing so far, but this tool does really need some basic functions that could be the most important for some traders and are easy to implement. I have selected first the ones I consider EASY or VERY EASY to add, but if I am wrong about that aspect please bear with me, I am not an experienced coder.

1. Conditional orders
Bittrex has it, same then most of other exchanges, but the people that has spent some time in crypto will agree with me on the convenience on doing this client side. Not going to go too deep into the reasons, those who understand what i say know why. EASY to implement as it is already 90% on the Ping Pong code.

Stop loss order is a total must.

2. Timer to start ping pong eliminated or reduced to 3 to 10 secs.
I do not know if is only my personal experience but is annoying to set timer to 120 secs and having to wait the whole 2 minutes to start P/P.

3. Highlight MY orders in the order book and to be able to cancel them right away from the MAIN AUTO TASKS window.

It is annoying to put an order in the ADVANCED PING POING mode and be competing against other bot, both playing random quantities, now really knowing which one are yours. Should be fairly easy to grey out or bold the orders that belongs to the trader. VERY EASY to implement.

4. A new tab for general analysis of the markets.

Specially the spread between 24h HIGH/LOW and current HIGH/LOW. Again, EASY to implement.

5. Detect walls function.

This can easily be coded as if the trader has to enter certain values, i.e. if he wants to detect when BTC walls over X value appear at certain market, or globally.

6. In P/P (Ping Pong), to be able to enter values - instead of x satoshis above/below ask/bid.

--

For now this are my ideas, hope you can implement at least some, since none of them are difficult to add, IMO.

Thanks in advance,

Eth.
