So I'm failing to understand what exactly is the purpose of this coin? To raise more awareness of Brexit? I'm pretty sure everybody who's anybody knows about it at this point.
As the (£)Pound has a uncertain future, the Brexit coin is to celebrate and have an fall-back option that we hope to gain recognition and value. Get it out to the people.

At this time we are implementing getting Brexit on to NovaExchange. Spreading the word out. Looking to expand on to larger Exchanges at a later date.
Looking to get Mobile for android, ios wallets developed.
and to create a backup currency to our failing (£) Pound :-)

Strange, your config file looks good, it's almost the same as I'm using, I just left out daemon=1 and use a different RPC port
Try to use another RPC port, I can see in the specs of this ANN that Port 7511 is the default P2P port and 7512 is the default.

After you changed the brexit.conf file restart the wallet.
