Here is another possibility....
You could start off at 1000 cann = 1 gram. Then as buy support increases and as more dispensaries start offering cann, you could go to 500 cann = 1 gram.
Then you could go to 100, 50, 10, 1 etc.
I'm just thinking that this would solve 2 problems:
1. This would obviously solve the problem of cann having so many coins.
2. This would solve the problem of traders dumping the coin because people would want to hold on to their cann for when it goes from 1000 to 500, etc.
You could even have exact dates named where the peg would change.
You really think current supply of about 76 million Cannabis is alot?
Then see this:
http://sneakhype.com/news/2011/02/contact-high-mexico-burns-134-tons-of-marijuana.htmlAnd think again!134 Tonne = 134 Million Grams
So, 76 Million Cann if Pegged 1 CANN per Gram = 76 Million Grams = 76 Tonne.... Don't seem like a really big deal any more isn't it?
And you honestly think the World Supply doesn't have way more than 420 Million Grams out there? But wait, it shouldn't be too much of a concern going forward as it will take
8.5 years to mine all any way.
Oh and please remember, not everyone holding CANN will want to exchange CANN for Cannabis every single day. I will say about 95% will be hoarded and the remaining 5% will be used for actual exchange of CANN to Cannabis.
Remember, like what Cann Dev has said,
"Cannabis is Limitless".
Limitless Definition: without limit; boundless.Or it could also mean: unbounded, measureless, unending, countless.Going by your suggestion is no different from a block reward halving, why do that? Who controls it? Who decides how much and when?
I say we peg once and for all
1 CANN per Gram and introduce daily restrictions based on Medical and Recreational usage accordingly.
Then increase the daily restrictions as supply grows.
That's the best way to control demand and give CANN a stable value LONG TERM!
