What recovery software do you guys recommend i try? Right now i am on LXLE ( Lubuntu linux ). Previously had the wallet on my windows 8 partition on my computer. My intention was to only partition part of the HD for LXLE, but in my drunken stupor i accidentally did a full install. This wasnt my first Linux installation either by the way.

Sys admin here. Even though you reinstalled your OS you still have a chance at recovering the file. it may not be sitting in same sector as where you installed on. i have recovered files from formatted computers that have been reinstalled on several time. There is no harm in trying! that said! Your mishap has made me double my backups!
I just bought another 2 r9 290x's bringing for my new Cann miner
3 more to go an ill have the full 6 cards machine running on it plus my other 2 pcs mining it now. Keep up the good work dev! Here in Australia were are hoping from legislative reform for medical cannabis use. With America leading the way Australia tends to eventually follow and ill do anything i Cann to support it.

Second, I think you answered your own question. You should try using a data recovery application to recover your wallet.dat
This happens countless of times with any coin. BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP your wallets.

That's really a bummer. You can always start again and maybe post your address for donations. There is so much potential and upcoming developments for CannabisCoin that I personally would not want you or anyone who supports it to miss out. The good thing is the diff is low right now and also easy to obtain from exchanges right now that it's probably the BEST time to obtain and hold some for yourself. This period in time for CannabisCoin is the "distribution' phase where the coin can be easily transferred between miners/investors/cannabis patients etc.

Originally when we decided to re-release we wanted to go PoS but decided that CannabisCoin is for everyday use, Keep in circulation, distributed evenly while it is cost effective and affordable for anyone to obtain, also a community involvement based coin that promotes basic mining with any hardware. Grandma can mine it.
We've also taken notice that there are many PoS coins out there and they seem to have a lot of wallet issues when PoS kicks in.
We aren't worried about the exchange rates right now and it actually seems to be a benefit due to the availability for it to go thru hands. I like to think of it as the "Distribution" phase where CannabisCoin gets to move around and spread itself. The dumpers are harvesting it and letting it get into the hands of those whom actually have use for it at a affordable rate before it blows up. Cann it happen?! YES IT CANN!
