Thinking of dumping my 5,917 CATS at a huge loss. This is only going lower. It's dropping far too fast for my taste. Sad really.

The most important thing I ve learned since I started trading is: "Dont EVER sell to a loss if you dont really need some BTCs badly! EVER!"

Just think of the SBC and DMD as an examples..

I kinda need the BTC so that I can burn them for XCP before I miss out on the 1500 XCP fire sale.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annxcp-counterparty-pioneering-peer-to-peer-finance-official-thread-395761

IDK what I'll do yet. I want CAT to go up.

What a CATastrophy!

I say again: Crypto trading ain't for pussies. It's for cats! Bye bye pussy. You won't be missed. You've already lost 2.5 BTC. Being nice, I would say hold on to your BTC... Somehow I see you losing a whole lot more with your trading strategies.
Grin

One day you're going to make a bad trade and lose a lot of money. I hope people treat you with a little more respect than you treat others, because nobody's going to sympathise with a lowlife who takes pleasure in other people's misery.

Of the two of you, Pussy seems richer to me.

No amount of money is going to stop you from being a dick.

Off for the night now, just popped in after seeing seeing Tribesman acting like a petulant child who just won a musical chairs contest. Pathetic.

I've taken many losses trading cryptos, and I've also made many gains. What I didn't do was go to the coin thread and start cussing when I took on a loss. They were MY decisions. I learned to live with them.

I'm only a dick to those who make me take off my trousers.

And pussy, I DOUBT you'd make a sound if you saw me in person, so shhh...

Im working on starting a kickstarter up to raise money for a CatCoin billboard.. ive already got 200$ on it Smiley

Catcoin is far from dead. I'll look at what I can do this week. I think I need to stop wasting time on projects that other people can do and get my head buried in code again. See what I can do from that level.

I still have all thoe coins, but I also have my skepticism since it seems like literally ANYBODY can jump in and make something to be "OFFICIAL", like the last hard fork...

It didn't happen like that. Go back and read this thread. The official fork was decided by the community (and not any one person) with at least one pool taking it in the chin for the greater good. This is a healthy coin with a healthy community. It only needs to survive the panic.

I was here almost the whole time (Ok, I had a sleep and did some more important things, but I checked in regularly and I was active when it really mattered.)
Somebody merely suggested the idea of a hard fork and after that, it was only a matter of minutes until some people (who are not official developers but still have something to do with the coin and thus have pretty loud voices and big tubes to scream through for most of the interested parties) stated that the fork is official and where you can find the informations and even a time counter to be ready (let alone the fact, that the actual fork was based on the block number, and said counter wasn't estimated from block times...). Here comes a sleep and a long driving in bad weather for me, and yah, the fork is now actually official, what a surprise!

thank you, and for those with cat coins still might consider selling you can set a alarm type reminder to alert you when the price does start to climb and reinvest then and still ride the wave up if it happens but if not you cut your losses good luck all

Haven't I? (Use the search function if you think I am lying. Tongue)

I personally mined about 750 CTAs in the first few hours (it could have been much more but I randomly jumped back and forth between pool1-solo-pool2-pool3 because it seemed like everyone, including my own wallet have it's own unique block chain -> LOL, it was fun, wasn't it? Grin) and I mined about another 100 in the coming days. Later, I doubled that amount by buying CATs on exchanges (all of my mining profit from DOGE and MOON from the last two weeks of so...). I didn't even play sell-buy-sell-buy, because in the (A) situation, it wouldn't really matter if I have 1700 or 3500 CATs if it all equals 0.000000x BTC at the end or in the (B) situation, I might loose a lot of potential profit if I can't buy everything back cheaper (and I wouldn't dare to buy back after the price already went up a lot and trust in another rise...). I came back to mine when MOON died and CAT needed the hash rate badly.

I still have all those coins, but I also have my skepticism since it seems like literally ANYBODY can jump in and make something to be OFFICIAL, like the last hard fork...
That was already "official" long before the developer or the rest of the community had any chance to say anything about it. It only took a few people who agreed and had the loudest voices here to make it "official". The rest of the people didn't really have a choice, but accept it. That wasn't fun! That was actually really scary! That's why I was so deeply against the fork idea! But, of course, it happened anyway, and it happened at light speed, no less.

Remember, it's not a loss until you sell it. If you bought a house for $500,000 and watched it tank to $300,000 but held it, then it bounced up to $1 million, you never "lost" the $200,000. So it's entirely up to you whether or not to lose the money in question. In another sense, the moment you make an investment, the entire amount you put in is a "sunk cost." Better to think about that money as gone, than nervously watch the fluctuations of the market. Nervous watchings lead to two kinds of mistakes - selling off as the price starts to go up (only to see the price continue to go up), and selling off as the price temporarily goes down (again, only to see the price continue to go up).

Remember, if you invested at 0.001 BTC, and the price is now south of .0004, if you want to think "loss" you've lost the majority of the value anyway, and the amount you can recoup an this point is less than 50%. So consider if it's worth holding on for the long haul, the worst that can happen is the amount (less than half of investment) is lost; but the upside is that you see it go up in value way beyond your original investment. And by all means sell, if you are confident you can live with yourself and not be full of regrets if you end up being like the person who sold BTC at $5 after tanking from a high of $30 back in 2011.

Just as an anecdote, so you know I've  felt this first-hand, earlier last year, I bought 1,600 LTC's at 0.0006 BTC, then sold as I watched it go up to 0.001 BTC, feeling smart for watching the market closely and acting quickly. But then after the LTC's were gone, I saw it continue to climb up to 0.03 BTC. The crazy thing is, I knew LTC was bound to eventually climb quite a bit - I just had unfortunate idea that since it had been bouncing back and forth between .0006 and .001 several times, I thought I'd outsmart the market and do a few buy/sell cycles at this oscillation point before keeping the LTC's long-term. Well, I never got that opportunity.
