I think he is a decent guy. Just look at what he has done to LTC and QRK. He is not the sort of guy that hypes shitcoins. And Cloakcoin is on of the best cryptocurrencies out there right now.

To check if you are up to date:

1. Go to http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/chain/CloakCoin
2. Look what the latest blocknumber is
3. Check that number with the number visible on your cloak client (hover with you mouse above the green checkmark)

Estimated total blocks 47843

The wallet is constantly out of sync, I assume this means I have to repair it somehow?
Could somebody explain to me in, in non-technical terms, what I need to do?
Scared of making a mistake and losing my coins.

go to the debug console type getblockhash followed by the latest block number on the blockchain website and compare the hashes

Your wallet is probably uploading the blockchain to other nodes on the network. And also transaction messages which should make the minor traffic part. Thats how decentralized currencies work. It's like a bittorrent bookkeeping database.

OK that's what I guessed it could be. I just wanted to be sure it's nothing "dangerous". I keep it open to support the network then

I use version 1.9.5 (JUN 28th) and I have my wallet open 24/7 for staking. Since yesterday I noticed that there is a permanent data upload from my computer when the wallet is open. Once it's closed my upload bandwith isn't used.

Any ideas on this?
