Very disappointing
hi bigjme and +1 to that

No, it's more disappointing people need to do that to get paid at all. We all know 99% of people don't donate.

Open source VS Close source.

The debate has been going on for years.

new version of ccminer with improved m7 (binaries, source a bit later today or tomorrow... as I need to figure out what I changed... and a few things I want to check)
hashrate for 750ti (+135/150): 5.5MH (+500kh)
                 780ti (OC)         :13.5MH (~1MH)
                  660                  : 4.2MH (+200kh)
also added average hashrate (thanks to cayars...)

awesome !!! Waiting for windows.

Is this wolf version ?
No, this is my version (if it was Wolf version I would have mentioned it)... and it is also for windows

2 - 3 more weeks , we shall see if 900 series is a game changer.

Why do I have the feeling Nvidia is skipping the 800 series naming so they can call it the 900 series and increase the price from the 880 msrp of $499 (I am too lazy to look this up to show where I seen this)..

I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

This must be some kind of misunderstanding. Awesome Miner doesn't include any code from ccMiner, Cgminer, Sgminer or any other open source project.

You need to download the ccMiner software that performs the actual mining in order to actually mine with your nVidia GPU - just like all users so far had to download Cgminer or Sgminer. Awesome Miner is just a management and monitoring (and much more...) application.
except if we (cg/sg/cc Miners dev) were doing like you, you wouldn't have anything to sell

I don't understand what point you are trying to make here?
If Sgminer would cost money, people that want to use it would buy it. Then they can use Awesome Miner, either free version or paid version, to connect to their Sgminer's and get a great mining management and monitoring application. That would work perfectly fine.

There is a free version of Awesome Miner available that most people run. For those having many miners, there are paid editions available as well.

Can you legally use open source code to make a for sale product?

Awesome Miner has been around for a while, but used to only support connecting to Cgminer & Sgminer for centralized management of GPU (mainly AMD) and ASIC mining.

I've had several user requests to add support for nVidia CUDA mining as well, and that's what the latest version includes - support for ccMiner in addition to the other supported mining software. I've also worked on adding the popular Profit Switching feature to work in combination with ccMiner, and all that is included in the free version of Awesome Miner.

It's of course possible to have discussions about if open source, open source with donations, pure paid versions or a combination of free and paid versions are the best alternative for everyone. From what I've seen from other projects is that donations doens't really work, even if many of people are talking about it.

Awesome Miner is a combination of free and paid software. I like that people use the software I develop, so for that reason I provide a free version that the majority of the users can run. However, I also think it's fair that those who really use the advanced features and have mining as more than a small hobby actually are the one that pay for the software - to support the development and make it available for everyone else.

Version 1.1 adds support for nVidia CUDA mining software, ccMiner. This is a feature requested by the nVidia mining community, and brings the powerful centralized management features of Awesome Miner to those using nVidia GPU's.

The screenshot below shows the mining with nVidia CUDA using ccMiner, together with other GPU and ASIC miners.

Awesome Profit Switching makes it possible to get higher profits than any of the auto-switching multi-pools alone, by automatically switching between multiple algorithms and multiple multi-pools. The latest version includes support for the nVidia CUDA based ccMiner.
Always amazed by people selling software using as an in input an opensource software  Huh
(and you wonder why, open sourcing is less ans less mainstream)
