Has anyone noticed just how many new GPU alt coins failed or have fallen to worthless values in April and May?

There was this one coin, Enigma [EGMA] were the coin go delisted from every exchange, because the developer could not even design a working wallet Cheesy

Then, there is Bitlux [LUX], which is now virtually worthless. Similarly, there is Sixteenbit, which is again worthless.

Just for you:

Yeah, I think people who post those type of videos are a tad confused and get easily upset when they lose BTC.

Crypto Currencies are bought an owned by optimistic people, who reject doomsday ideas.

For example: to invest in Dash or Litecoin or Driodz or any other crypto currency you have to believe there will always be an internet, computers and electricity.

This requires a rejection of doomsday or apocalyptic scenarios, which see humanity reduced to nothingness.

Consequently, it not really surprising this boundless optimism amongst the crypto community leads to developers being able to launch new alts every month.

I'm optimistic about the future, regardless of, what mistakes Central Governments and Central Banks make about macro economic economies (including their Fiat Currencies).

Therefore, I spend my time on crypto currencies, because it is a community of optimistic individuals.

Hello! Upon mining, my GTX 960's are able to get 7 khs on scryptjane:14, with -l t79x2 except that when the miner starts up with more than 3 cards on my 5 card rig, (multiple instances do not help) I can only use a much less powerful flag -l t20x5 to be able to get all the cards running... Does anyone know why this is?

How much RAM do you have? You might need more than 8GB to run >3 cards. Check out this post. I am not sure about this as i only have 2 cards.

hey thanks, yes Wolf0 helped me out; it was a ram issue. Thanks!

good. All the best for future Smiley

My PNY 750 ti quit today. Computer won't boot unless I remove GPU. Anyone else have this problem or know what may have failed, and/or is it fixable? Thanks for suggestions.

My 8800GTS died on me several months ago and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. I decided to put it in my toaster oven @ around 250* Fahrenheit for around 5 minutes and then let it cool off before re-inserting it in my PC. To my surprise, the video card worked flawlessly; I ran it overclocked +35% for 11 consecutive days @ 100% GPU usage cracking a WPA2 handshake it's as stable as can be.  I would suggest using a heat gun before attempting this procedure if you've got one nearby.

Best of Luck!

Yes that happened to me...card failed. And I consider it dead.
oven baking, I saw a video might work  Grin (and it won't be more dead than it is already)
LOL it does , and it pays great, fixing peoples laptops because they get the heat sink gets covered in lint.... Anyway its fixed  Shocked

It was the DVI to VGA adapter that went bad... I tried powering the computer with no monitor connection with card in place and

it was ok. so I just worked backwards and replaced the adapter... TADA all good

Thank you to everyone who replied...still a great thread of people here...cheers!

Never had this problem, but, did you try a different pcie slot just to make sure it's not that?

Is the card still under warranty?

Most possible cause is the PSU (partial) failure. If you have another PSU cross fingers and try it.

Good luck.

I actually tried the GPU in another computer and that other computer would not boot either...super sad face... and not under warranty anymore. So any thoughts on what part of it might have failed?

I even tried the baking it at 380F for 10 mins and no change. BTW this is how you fix mobo gpu's in many laptops when they overheat and you get no boot and blank screen.

Someone has to have had this happen?? I will try any ideas, lol ..for the sake of science Smiley

Below are my initial results using sgminer with Yescrypt on a GTX 750ti.  It is performing a little better than ccminer by almost 100 h/s.  On average I am seeing about 980 h/s average.  Below is the command I am using, which is one of the commands listed in example.bat.

sgminer.exe --no-submit-stale --kernel yescrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.coin-miners.info:3575 -u wigitgetit.1 -p x  --gpu-platform 0 -w 4   -g 2

for yescrypt and compute 5.0 and higher cards (750ti and newer) use sgminer ( Grin )

github/djm34/sgminer

with these parameters: (tested on gtx980, 750ti)
sgminer.exe --no-submit-stale --kernel yescrypt-multi -o stratum+tcp://mine2.bsty.nonce-pool.com:4095 -u djm34.1 -p password  --gpu-platform 0 -w 4   -g 2

(may-be it is due to the fact that nvidia now support opencl 1.2... don't know or cuda doesn't like at all sha256... at least not how I write it  Grin)

it is significantly faster for the 900's 1.5kh/s versus 1.2kh/s
Don't use it for compute 3.5 cards, works like shit... Grin  ccminer works a lot better for the older cards...

Below are the stats I got mining with my 750ti mining yescrypt coin BSTY.

Code:
ccminer.exe --algo=yescrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.coin-miners.info:3575 -u wigitgetit.1 -p x -i 0
