What should a miner be mining now a days with a 750 ti? using cudaminer and or ccminer? and what pools?

i think we have come too late, i'm waiting for the next "jackpot"

Crytonight
Yes cryptonight (XMR/QCN/FCN/XDN/etc) and BBR (not cryptonight, wild keccak)...with cpu and/or AMD gpu only for the moment

Set the affinity of processor/cores each uses to separate them so they can't steal from each other.
Can you tell me how to do that?

"Say no to clone coins with no added value."   This I would sign. But it doesn't apply to BBR or XMR.

You know, one thing that you wouldn't need to officially do, but could have a lot of use is to maybe offer some thoughts on new coins as they come out...

I am assuming you check out the new fish as they get announced for possibly integration into your operation, and not necessarily that you need to make them minable, but something that I think is missing from the scene is someone who is on the mining side of the house (AMD or Nvidia) who carries some credibility on what makes coins different.

Just a thought, since I figure you spend some decent time looking at what the coins are doing already, and I think the community here certainly trusts your motives and technical expertise.

I do realize that giving a big thumbs up to a new coin that CCminer doesn't already work with would just drive 1k posts asking for it, but I think for any new launches of coins that can already work it would be good to know what is added that would make a coin stand out.

If this already exists someplace and I just haven't encountered it, please let me know where to go start reading! Smiley

I was trying to run ccminer50 with a cpu miner for xbr, but when I run the cpu miner it starts to cut into the %of good hash, I tried even just mining with 1 cpu thread still does it, any suggestions?

I feel most of these "CPU only" coins already have a gpu from the start.

Take NUD, dev claimed cpu only with a variant of scrypt mining. Guess what? It was just a regular scrypt coin. Dev even said at release that scrypt miners would not work. My feeling was so that person or group could gpu mine while everyone else was cpu mining.

I know that might not make sense. But it seems like some of these coins are coming out with a few details being left out.

It's a good way to scam people that's for sure, they can hide an instamine with the no premine premise.

Hey Bombadil, do you have a compiled version of your cuda profit calculator someplace we can grab it from?

Click on the image, or just here: https://github.com/KBomba/cuda-profit-calc/releases/tag/v0.2b

Cool.  Didn't think about clicking on the image.   Grin

I just updated my Profit Calc Wink
-Added PoolPicker to get your most profitable multipool over X days.
-Used better rounding for prices.
-Saves settings on exit, and reloads them on launch.
-Added some extra algo's, unsure about standard hashrates for GTX750TI 8-)

Is there any chance to see someday a cryptonote miner for nvidia ? (AMD got Claymore)

Just say no to crap coins.

BBR is actually a side show for us.

We're in the game with XMR mostly. Its hashing algorithm is actually better designed than boolberry's to keep the GPUs in
check.

Cryptonote coins are quite immature at this point. Give them some time to evolve, and maybe to come up with better wallet
software and core libraries. They might someday play a big role in the cryptocurrency world. Second to Bitcoin maybe.

As it is right now, you are the strongest single force driving BBR down (inadvertently or not).

strange, I've seen it mostly go up, and seen it stabilize up there. We'd still mine profitably if it was 1/4th the current value.

This makes no sense at all. Fun fact: HVC's most highly advertised technical merit, was that it would be CPU-only, so yes, a GPU miner took it down in value. Once a GPU miner was available, HVC was down to virtually 'no merits' at all to carry it forward. This bares no resemblance whatsoever with the debate here over closed vs open source.
How they are threatening the coin: Anyone buying BBR now, is in no small part, just sending money over to Christian's pockets (though not his alone, I'm sure). Do you think that's a sustainable currency?  Roll Eyes

I think the smarter thing is for all these new coins to have a technical reason they make a claim to being 'CPU only' and not just because they are not providing a program for GPU's to mine it.

It shows the technical knowledge (or lack thereof) of those that are making the claims and launching coins using the buzz-words.

I more blame the crap-coin world and the fact that people will mine them without knowing what is going on.

In the 'open source' world, you want people to go through the code and point out your flaws so they can be fixed, and if you ask me the fact that Christian doesn't hide the fact of what and how he is mining a coin they make available fits that bill.

There is no reason he has to release his code to the world if he chooses not to.

Just say no to crap coins.

I honestly couldn't care less. I don't see it any differently than anyone having a huge farm and who mine a coin from the start and own most of it.
Sure he got a better miner than others , but i am sure there is a lot of hardware along to go with it.

If the situation happen here then the design of BBR was .. bad and i don't see what is so special about this coin. That is all. There were no good tools to mine ,when this happens you open your coin to this issue. Someone made a good miner and he uses it , and i find it hard to believe he is the only one that have a functionnal wild keccak miner out there. So what ? Good for those guys , i wish i had the knowledge to do the same. It is their own right to share it or not. And it isn't ''closed source'' like it is being thrown around all over , it just is not public. I am sure once he release it out it will be open source... This argument make no sense to me.

All what you say is very nice and ethical and all , but this just isn't carebearland. If ppl have an advantage they will use it , it is just how it is. He chose to make it a public fact .. That is his choice.
He could have just said nothing and probably won't say anything next time this happen.
Is it good for the health of the coin ? .. No probably not. But it doesn't make any difference.
