So here's a rookie question (and possibly a rookie mistake).  I triple checked the amount I sent (was only able to buy $500).  I sent it from Bittrex.  Was I supposed to ADD the transaction fee to the amount I sent?  I thought that it would send what I actually TYPED IN and take the transaction fee from my account.  But now I'm worried.

Though on the confirmation email from Civic, there is a star next to my payment and it says transaction fees may have been deducted from your payment.

So I don't know.  Will I just get rejected after spending my entire day figuring this out?  Seems counter-intuitive to have to do the math and add the transaction fee after declaring what I wanted to send in the first place.  Or am I worrying for nothing?

Hey I did exactly the same thing. The transaction fee made the amount I sent not exact as stated on the deposit page. So I sent the exact amount after. Not sure if this means all of my money will be returned or if the second and correct payment will be accepted.

I was thinking about resending but wouldn't you know it, I don't have that amount of bitcoin left in my account.  Agh.  Waited patiently all day and thought I did it correctly and now I have to worry that it'll just get rejected in the end.  And I would gladly send the missing 0.001.  Doesn't make sense that Bittrex would send 0.001 less than what I actually entered and asked it to send.  Seems counter-intuitive.  Or maybe it's fine and I'm wrong.

being a rookie is ok but being lazy is not! you should read the crowdsale instruction, it says you can't purchase using any exchange, your coins are lost sorry!

From Civic FAQ regarding the sale straight from the site:

What you need to be ready...
2. If you are paying in BTC:

A) Your BTC on an exchange or in a wallet, ready to be sent to the address displayed to you via the crowdsale widget.

AND LATER:

"If you choose to purchase tokens with BTC, you can send BTC from an Exchange but need to provide us with a token receipt address that is ERC20 compatible "

So yes, I am new to this and I may have made a mistake not factoring in the transaction fee because I thought Bittrex would send what I asked and would take the fee from my remaining BTC balance.

But I am not lazy.

Hi,

I have read whitepaper
Very strange things:

1) I cannot copy/paste text - it's very strange for project. Smiley

2) There no original ideas. Merkle Root & signs exists a long time. To make Merkle Root from data and to sign it - it should not be needed in crowdsale and in ICO

3) This scheme does not stand up to criticism Smiley

It describes what things exist in real words. Service providers & signed "PII" - it's now can be realized through x.509 certificates.
Payment can be realized through bitcoin/debit cards
Signs can be realized through PGP/ECC signs. No need to put it in blockchain. These data can be published in sites / forums and etc. But ok - it can be put in blockchain (for example in Bitcoin blockchain for $2-$4 fee :-)
And from whitepaper main idea i see there: the Civic wants to control tokens, services and service providers (page 15 from "Whitepaper") Smiley

4) Service providers can leak private keys. Service providers can be rogues - they can issue fake cerificates and etc. No ways to check it. It will check only the Civic. They want to be main organisation in this project ( ==  centralization) Smiley

P.S. 99% if ICO - they are scam. Please to think twicely Wink

I got my transaction cancelled with the following error message.  I would like to attempt to send again but not sure what I would do differently to make it work or if my block of coins is still available to me.  Any advice appreciated.

Contract 0x12444b6ec62e616ebc8a23e56e61f8f4c6da610c (CivicCrowdsale)
Warning! Error encountered during contract execution [Bad jump destination]

Thanks,

DF

I also have the same problem as above of:

"Warning! Error encountered during contract execution [Bad jump destination]"  on 2 different transaction ID's now.... so 2 times wasted the gas, which is about $5 wasted each time.

Actually, I tried 3 times.  The very first time I tried to send, it just send "Pending" for over 3 hours.  So then I raised the Gas Price up to 60 Gwei, which allowed me to get further (and get those error above).

This is using myetherwallet.com and a ledger nano s.

I thought it might have been something about a bug in the MyEtherwallet client program, as I read you had to make sure to fill in the DATA field first otherwise the gas field gets wiped out.  But nothing I did made a difference.

In any case, I filled in the DATA field with the DATA info as instructed by civic, and I set the gas limit to 250000.  Civic did not say that I needed to up the Gas Price from 32 Gwei to 60 Gwei, but that is the only thing that enabled me to get the transaction out of the pending stage.   Still, it went from Pending to Bad Jump Destination, which I guess is worse...

Anyone know how to fix this?

Same things happened yesterday.

I thought with the organisation and the time all the transaction will work.
I might give up on that and wait below 10cts.

any body tell me civic coin price.
10 cents.

Civic is on sale now and it's 6 days left. Does anyone know what is prediction about the price and will civic appear on the most big exchangers after sale will be over?

Exchanges will probably be announced after ICO is over.

Didn't buy because the ICO was priced insanely high. But I really like the model. It helps people get in, the big guys and the small guys. Amazing model!

how is $0.10 insanely high?
