mv protocol.pb.cc protocol.pb.cpp

When I compiled Datacoin with this simple protocol (right after git cloning) I received the following error:

configure: error: libdb_cxx headers missing, Datacoin Core requires this library for wallet functionality (--disable-wallet to disable wallet functionality)

Am I doing some simple stupid mistake?

The Apertus.io browser is able to serve up websites that have been stored on the Datacoin blockchain.  It is also able to browse the rest of the Internet.

In a sense then Datacoin already has a DNS system embedded in and interpreted by the Apertus browser.   Both the browser and the coin can be run independantly of ICANN, so when these two pieces of software work together we already have websites that cannot be seized, controlled or shut down.

It would be nice indeed if there was broader adoption of the Apertus.io browser.  A version cross compiled for Linux and Mac would also be nice.

-extro

Excellent.  Yes, it seems Apertus relying on IE frames to do the browsing is what's causing most of the incompatibility with other platforms.

I compiled the Apertus.io browser using Monodevelop on Ubuntu 18.  I got 2 errors -

"The type or namespace "Media" does not exist in the namespace "System.Windows"" and
""GlyphTypeface" could not be found".

Anybody know how to solve this?

Hello,

    A release built from Graham's work has been tagged in GitHub.
    Datacoin Core 0.16.3

    There are some housekeeping commits added on top which will make the build process less complicated.
    Additionally, checkpoints have been added and the hard-coded nodes have been refreshed.
    Veronium's forced outgoing connections have been removed.

    Builds from Gitian are yet incomplete as there are outstanding issues.

    Bootstrap files are provided for both the Main and Testnet.
    The bootstraps were not made the traditional way using the linearize script, because it doesn't understand datacoin PoW yet.
    These bootstraps were generated by concatenating the individual block files, using cat blk* > bootstrap.dat.

    Compiling yourself should be much easier now and you should not need to declare LIBS= along with the call to configure.

    Special Dependencies: GMP, czmq, the Boost timer plugin and Google Protocol Buffers.

Code:
cd datacoin/src/madpool
protoc --proto_path=./ --cpp_out=./ protocol.proto
mv protocol.pb.cc protocol.pb.cpp
cd ../..
./autogen.sh && ./configure && make

    I'd like to hear a report from someone successful mining from this tag or from the tip of the master branch.

    Thanks again for the hard work and continued interest with Datacoin.

Best Regards,
-Chicago

Datacoin wallet v0.8.6.0
I launch the wallet, there is no connection(no block source available...),
tell me how to synchronize with the network!

Go to console, then

Code:
addnode dtc.bytestamp.net:4777 add

You can also add other nodes, see the first post of this thread

addnode=dtc.bytestamp.net:4777

Please let me know if it works

It did, and returned null.

Code:
addnode dtc.bytestamp.net:4777 add

Did you solve your problem about getting no connections?

-extro

Yes, and I also did a Datacoin public node.

Now you shouuld be able to do:

Code:
addnode=dtc.bytestamp.net:4777

Ok, I see now it is actually labelled as 0.16 in the Github source.

Update 18/8/2019:  I compiled it and I am now running Datacoin Core version v0.16.3.0-6bb3f3a3e (64-bit).
Seems to be syncing without incident.  Thank you Graham!

Hi all.

I have a connect issue.

...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Try this, stop the client and remove peers.dat and ban.dat file.

Edit your datacoin.conf file to only have one ip to connect to;  connect=45.63.115.238

restart the client

if you want to add nodes in the conf file, the following nodes are active at this point

addnode=148.251.2.141
addnode=89.72.246.21
addnode=54.37.46.84
addnode=94.130.64.167
addnode=92.206.158.6
addnode=151.80.96.105
addnode=83.161.158.205
addnode=212.125.247.47
addnode=140.186.218.230
addnode=31.131.65.221
addnode=185.78.136.251
addnode=40.83.220.117
addnode=109.168.57.228
addnode=144.217.255.89

https://www.datacoin.tk/explorer/

if all else fail, try to reindex

create a short cut for your client and set the target

C:\.......\datacoin-qt.exe -reindex

start the client with the shortcut

Hi all.

I have a connect issue.

My copy of blockchain stopped at block 3057515   .

I have all the addnode= of the first post in my datacoin.conf, but it does not work.

Each time it tries to connect to a peer it says connection refused or connection reset by peer.

I also tried with connect= instead of addnode, but with no luck.

I have:

 - 2 Satoshi:0.8.3 running on linux

 - another linux with Datoshi:0.16.3/

- I also tried with DatacoinCore.Veter:0.15.99.8 on Windows

- and I also tried from another IP address

I also put addnode= for each node seen in the last 24 hours from cryptoid.

But all these things did not work.

It does not connect to any peer.

Hi minerja,

Note that the email and name need not be correct for it to work...

Hi Hamburger,

Thank you for the heads-up!

I purchased 2 months.

If anyone else feels like contributing, it's very easy -- you simply send Bitcoin to the address it creates after you click the amount of months you want to help with!

Kind Regards,
The DataSea

Hi,

Just a heads up on the  hosting for the Datacoin explorer on CryptoID, it  will expire on 2019-08-02 00:00 (in 7.5 days).

If your contribute towards the CryptoID hosting costs, the explorer for Datacoin will be hosted for longer

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/contribute.dws?coin=dtc

Thats not how it worked when i tried

https://ibb.co/hsTS8Jr

I'd happily contribute but not ifi have to leave all those details....
