It is true that the activity on the thread has greatly decreased due to the effect of DeepPoint on the official forum and I find it a shame because it can have a negative effect on the external vision of people who do not know the Onion . Before there was a good distribution of activities on both forums and so showe that there was an active and growing community whereas now, even if it still is, peoples which are not registered on the official forum can see, or have the impression on Bitcointalk, that the community is weakening.
Frankly, it shouldn't be like that. I for one have always enjoyed seeing the pages build on our BCT ANN Thread. I posted in both, for many reasons - DeepPoints, or rewards was never one of them. I don't think we should neglect our BCT thread - it has garnered us a tremendous number of participants. Let's face it - we all started on here, on this thread!
DeepPoints is a great addition, and its helping the community find a place more tailored to DeepOnion, which I think is fantastic - but we should be active there out of our love for DeepOnion - Not for some points.
Let's all do our part to continue growing DO, while still spreading the word here, on BCT
Just checked our forum and seems that the biggest DeepPoints "hype" from the last few days is over (thanks to quick adjustment of the rules). But there is still a very nice activity and I believe that the growth of our DO forum will be much healthier with the updated DeepPoints rules.
Regarding our activity here, cca 9 pages for last 24 hours are also not bad, I was still able to find us on the first page of this Section. And it also seems that the post quality here is slowly increasing. Hopefully, we are approaching the ideal balance between our activities on both forums.
My activity here in bitcointalk hasnt changed eventhough there is now deeppoints in the official forum.
But just as like before i am usually going on other forums in order to search for topics that i am interested in and will be of great value to me.
Hopefully everyone will not forget that they do have task needed to be accomplished in this forum.
I will agree with you, the post quality does seem better than it was before. No question, which is a good thing.
Further, it has undoubtedly bolstered activity on the official DeepOnion forum, another good thing. My only wish it that it would have spurred more people buying / holding onions, not simply looking for FREE elsewhere. I think we're seeing some positive signs, and I believe as we move forward, things are going to gradually improve. I'll be happy once the BTC fork is a thing of the past - While I don't anticipate anything off the charts, I do believe it will help improve DO price.
