I don't really get the purpose of the project, is it predictions for betting? you mentioned sports. If not, what is the use of these predictions? how do I know they are not biased?

DELPHY Monthly Airdrop — May, 2018


Time flies faster in the Crypto world. It’s almost end of May, and it’s time for the Monthly Delphy Airdrop. If you have been holding DPY (Delphy token) at the moment of snapshot, you will benefit from our Monthly Delphy airdrop. Yes, you heard that right!


We value our community, in fact Delphy promised to give 50% of all DPY tokens, which equals to 50 million DPY tokens in total, to our token holders in a linear distribution way within two years, for free. By end of each month, Delphy will monitor the number of holders and the amount of tokens held by each holder at a randomly picked moment (a snapshot) decided by Delphy. This reward program has started from Oct, 2017, as said before, will last for 2 years.


The total amount DPY token to be awarded to our holders is exactly same amount every month, which is: total of 50 million (DPY) /24 (months) = 2,083,333.33333 (DPY).


For May 2018, the snapshot moment is 18:00 on 30th May, 2018, Beijing Time. The number of tokens to be received by a holder = the amount of token held at snapshot moment/ 31 — transaction fees (which is about 0.5DPY at this moment = Gas price * Gas used/Price of DPY). (Why 31? Because, the total months for airdrop is 24, and till now, 7 airdrops have already happened.) Due to the transaction fees, if the number of DPY tokens you are holding at the moment of snapshot is less than 15.5, you will not be able to receive airdrop.


You can get the airdrop, if you keep your DPY tokens at your exchange account, like gate.io, okex.com, or cybex.io (the decentralized exchange DPY is listed recently). However, the speed at which the tokens are received, may depend on the workflow and workload of the respective exchanges. Therefore, if you would like to get the airdrop immediately, the best option would be to have your DPYs in your wallet.

We are glad to update you that Hecaijing, renowned media outlet in the blockchain industry in China interviewed Bo Wang, Founder of Delphy. Bo introduced Delphy’s prediction markets platform and shared his own experience in the blockchain industry and his advice to new entrepreneurs who would plan to join in the blockchain industry.


Hecaijing: Hi Bo, could you please introduce yourself and and your entrepreneurship experience in the blockchain industry?


Bo Wang: Hi, thank you for having me here, I am Bo Wang and I started my journey in blockchain industry since 2013. At that time, people talked more about bitcoin than blockchain. My friend, David Johnson, entrepreneur and the co-founder of Factom, told me that he was a true believer in Bitcoin and not only bought Bitcoin at $10, he went all in. You know the bitcoin price was $500 the moment he told me about it. Before I thought it’s unbelievable to issue digital assets on the internet, but after this, I researched everything about bitcoin and realized that Bitcoin can truly allow online payments to be sent directly from one peer to another, which can resolve the problem of relying too much on the third party due to the lack of trust between the two parties.


Then we started to search for the next “bitcoin”. We found Ethereum, a better version of bitcoin as it allows anyone to write smart contracts and decentralized applications! In 2014, we noticed Augur and that’s where we started our interest and research about prediction markets. In 2017, Delphy Foundation was registered in Singapore, then we crowd funded, started to build our community, and have been working very hard on the product development. And now, we are very proud to announce that Delphy will launch our product in June!!


Hecaijing: The FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia is approaching. What do you think of the combination of the World Cup and blockchain?


Bo Wang: Generally speaking, most of the blockchain projects can be divided into 2 categories, Public Chain and Decentralized Application. Public Chain, take Ethereum as an example, is to create an alternative protocol, or foundation, for building decentralized applications.


Delphy is on a journey to a fully decentralized prediction market ecosystem, and now our initial step is a Decentralized Application. From the very beginning, we believe that prediction market is one of the best application in the blockchain industry, which can bring social value. For example, some American government agencies, like CIA, used to use prediction markets to improve upon existing approaches to preparing strategic intelligence.


We also noticed that prediction market is a new concept in China, but as in the rest of the world. Prediction markets can help Chinese government and companies make effective and efficient decisions. That’s why we chose prediction market to be our project, as the product can be launched, there’s a real business model, there are extensive application markets, and people can truly like and enjoy it.


After over a year’s hard-working, Delphy will launch our product this June, which is right before the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia, and we do have plans to take advantage of the once of every 4 years occasion. For example, there’s will be a World Cup session on Delphy App, where you can not only predict the games, but also related topics, such as the players, cultures, values, etc. We will bring interesting and fun experience to you, more than just the game itself. We will also have various kinds of promotions and prizes up for grab, stay tuned, more details will be disclosed soon.


Hecaijing: As an early blockchain investor and a successful entrepreneur, could you please give some suggestions and advice to the new entrepreneurs in the blockchain industry?


Bo Wang: I am a serial entrepreneur and have been in blockchain industry for quite some years, the first advice I’d like to give is to make sure this project is what you really want to do before you take action.


On one hand, crowdfunding makes the project a lifetime “liability” to the founder. Compared with a couple of VC investors, crowdfunding makes the founder face a community, a lot of time it’s an international community. You are responsible for them and this responsibility is difficult to hand over to others, which means you have to make sure this project is or can be a lifetime project for you, then you are ready to work hard for it and together with your community.


On the other hand, crypto exchanges don’t close, it’s 24*7, international community doesn’t shut down, it’s 24*7, which results in the pressure to the founder is 24*7. So are you ready to face this tremendous pressure? This is another reason that I suggest you think twice before you jump into a project.


The second advice to you is that perseverance is the key and it’s really a marathon. Crowdfunding probably is the easiest step, while to launch a product, and to launch it faster and better than your competitors, then to realize the internationalization are all huge challenges.


There are tons of opportunities in the blockchain industry. If you make sure it’s your lifetime dream and are prepared, then welcome to the high-paced, huge-pressured, and exciting industry full of potential!

Delphy Co-hosted Successful Hangzhou & Shanghai Blockchain Salons with Partner Projects

Bo Wang, Founder of Delphy and a visionary delivers key note speech at the Blockchain Investment Forum in Shenzhen, China on April 7th, 2018


Bo Wang, Founder of Delphy, the first prediction market platform in China, emphasized that making predictions is not only a recent fad but also a basic, on-going human desire; humans crave fairness, justice and pursuit of effective knowledge. The blockchain technology has accelerated it’s progress, that is embedded in the ecology and mechanism of prediction markets. Bo gave an enthusiastic speech about Evolution of Blockchain to the audience of Blockchain Investment Forum in Shenzhen, China.


In 2009, when Bitcoin whitepaper was first published on Hacker News, it was indeed the must-read paper for all technical geeks. At that point in time the paper did not resonate with the most readers as most perceived it to be a fantasy of a few enthusiasts.


When Bo came back to America in 2013, one of his friends told him that he was a was a true believer in Bitcoin and not only bought Bitcoin at $10, he went all in, when the Bitcoin price was $500. After that realization, Bo began researching into blockchain technology and Bitcoin. After research, he understood that it could really fix real problems.


Let’s take a look at Ethereum, the two most meaningful tasks Ethereum has accomplished are:


Smart contract to automate some very simple tasks on smart contracts.

The other is to create the ICO. Actually, the first ICO was done by MasterCoin, but Ethereum made an innovation to ICO. Vitalik hired the best lawyers in the world and created a whole set of legal framework in Switzerland. This legal framework can both protect investors and founders of projects. So they did ICO from July to August 2014. This ICO was a legal fundraising act under a real legal framework with bitcoins, rather than fiat. During the process, Ethereum had crowdfunded around $17 million worth of Bitcoins.

The ICO model ignited a wave of funding for blockchain projects. In spite of the fact that last year ICO’s were banned in China, many projects have the chance to get investment under legal conditions, which helps the blockchain industry to facilitate the product launch faster and easier.


News is all about reporting on past events or events that are happening, but in fact what we are most concerned about what will happen in the future and the value this news event will have in the future. If we know in advance what will happen in the future, we will know what we want to do and what we should do. Delphy, the prediction market platform, is a tool to help you predict the future and realize the future. Today, I will not talk about Delphy, but I’d like to share with you my learning from my recent trips global-wise. Maybe these will be some opportunities for you.


Bo just came back from Japan and one thing he noticed very interesting is there’s no one dominant media in Japan. Even with the huge population in China, there are several dominant multi-media outlets which could provide one-stop global-wise information for the users. But it’s totally a different story in Japan. The Japanese media landscape comprises of many small or medium sized influential media which could dominate an industry or a region, but there isn’t one media conglomerate that can cover it all. This might be a huge opportunity.


Bo also met and discussed with some projects who focus on quantitative trading in Japan and Russia, that have very strong technical backgrounds. Additionally, both projects comprise of experts in quantitative trading who’ve had experience in making a fortune in both the stock market and cryptocurrency world. In China, the market is even bigger, therefore, experts in China blockchain industry needs to work very hard to catch up with these top techniques.


During Bo’s trip to Russia, he noticed a trend in blockchain industry. Russia would like to invite and help move the mining companies from China to Russia, because the cost of electricity is very low in Russia. They spoke with many mining companies in China and even offered to disassemble the mining machines into parts first, transport them, then assemble them back, which could effectively avoid the high taxes. The reality is some of the Chinese mining companies have moved to Russia, while others are still speculating.


Another strategic move in the blockchain industry in Japan is focusing more on mining than before. Actually, Japan is very famous in strong chip design capability, but in the past they looked down on mining. But finally, they are awakened and have started to design chips with very high quality standards. With the developing of the mining industry, Japan begins to regard it as a renewable energy. One disadvantage of mining industry in Japan is that 55% of tax will be levies on the value cryptocurrencies mined, which is an appalling rate!


Finally, it’s been well accepted that mining, wallets and exchanges are the most important strategies in the blockchain industry. Hope this speech can give you some ideas which could help you with your exploration in the blockchain industry.

Delphy announces Re-brand Ahead of Predictive Markets Platform Launch. The new brand emphasises on the value propositions and brand identity of the Delphy Brand, and includes a new logo, positioning, and website; Leading advertising agency Ogilvy, Spain (CMA) developing the branding strategy.

Bo Wang was invited to Beyond Blocks Summit Tokyo, where he discussed “ The Role of Governance in Asian Markets” as a panel member on April 4–5, 2018.


Bo Wang was invited to attend and speak on a blockchain and digital assets investment summit — Look at the Blockchain Industry in a Future Perspective, in Shenzhen, China on April 7th, 2018. In his speech, he discussed the evolution of the industry from the conception of Bitcoin and the current state of the blockchain industry. In his view, whilst the Chinese government banned ICO’s, undoubtedly, crowdfunding helps blockchain industry by enabling start-ups to create the products and aid in product launch.
