8,000 from something with low requirements sounds about right to me.

The dev spent all day removing duplicates.

And it's a free coin, what have you lost? If you don't like it, sell your 2457 ebtc for pennies, I'm sure someone will be happy to take them off your hands!

I'm HODLing till after they've been on big exchanges for a few months at least.

Either you're native because you're really new to Crypto and wishfully thinking or...

How many views do you think this thread and the old one should have if over 8,000 people applied for the air drop?

It has about 10,000, and the airdrop ended a few days ago.

Do you think those 8,000+ legitimate people really only clicked on it once, only reading one page?

And if you say that a lot of average people simply did not even visit Bitcointalk and just went to the website, then that's a lot of noobs who will somehow have to figure out how to create and Ethereum wallet.

Sell them then, don't worry about what I do, I'm fine thanks.

2 days is not much time to give for people to sign up for a airdrop. This thread was created on the 27th and the airdrop signup ended on the 29th, giving almost no time for anyone to signup for this airdrop. The fact that 8000 emails received the airdrop makes this project very suspicious.

I announced the project on September 18th. The airdrop sign up was open for 10 days before I created this ANN thread.

Well, my bad then. Why create another thread then? I have not seen any thread related to this airdrop before but I might have just missed it.

I did not create the other thread.

i have registered with my only address and I haven't received any tokens yet!

Airdrop finished??

Do I need to have any eth balance on that address??
airdrop is finished already but distribution is still on going, so do not worry, maybe untill the dev says it done or when we look at the explorer and see it done, then you would not have received.

What kind of precautions did you take to prevent fakes? Were multiple users with the same IP allowed to?

No, they weren't allowed from same I.p, wallet or email. The devs have already answered this.

I agree that an airdrop that accepts newbie needs to be disregarded and re-evaluated. As it's clear that countless users will create other accounts to take over threads with spam.

This one didn't even require a bitcointalk account. Just an email and a Ethereum address. I think the dev should stop the air drop and do a do over requiring Bitcoin talk account with some more requirements. Because over 8,000 accounts just doesn't sound legit.

A count of 8,000 is nothing.  Wcex has around 600,000 and counting according to webpage statistics.

Don't say it's nothing.

Take the Howl airdrop. By the time the air drop were being distributed, it had like 40 pages, and the final number was around 628 participants.

This is bad. because instead of you getting 20,000 ebtc or more, you're only getting 2,457, while another person is probably getting over 17,000 that would have belong to you.

There are two ebtc threads.
And the other one had ten. It's still not accounting for the incredible amount of participants.

I just don't understand why users go around typing non-sense right and left.

This airdrop was open for registration for (at least) more than one week. The fact this topic was only created two days ago doesn't mean nothing because it was created way after the registration was already up.

I actually think 8,000 emails is a very small amount.
