Lots of multipools dumping ECC, so after the POS starts we will see how much that was holding ECC back. 

What's up with http://ecc.okaypool.com ?!  I have not been able to release my coins for a couple of days?  Have mined hundreds of thousands?  Is it a scam?  Site indicates email confirmation to setup withdrawal, but no emails have been sent.  Used the web form to contact them, but no reply.  Looks like a big scam site?  Any others?  Feedback?

Actually, Eric, that's only a basic fact to those that don't want to try.

The answers are on their website. You only need to look at one page.

Note how high the green line is on their block statistics page. People who found shares before the first block was found were still getting a cut on blocks that were found later. That's because it supposedly took 22 times the average number of shares to find that block. Until the green line dips all the way down to where the other lines are, you will be earning ECC on a very delayed basis.  That's just how variable PPLNS works. (Don't ask if it really took that long to find the first block. That seems a bit suspicious to me, but it's possible. You might want to check and see who earned the shares for that block.)

On top of that, according to the same page, they had a run of bad luck right when you started mining. Yes, they found a block recently, but they went several hours without finding a block before that. Earlier, they found several blocks quickly, but that was right before you started mining. That looks like normal variability to me.

Of course, yet another problem is the cherry-picking that I've already mentioned a few dozen times. As the same page shows, of all the blocks that pool has managed to find, only one of them was over 200,000 ECC and it was just barely over. So the pool is getting much less ECC per block than it would be getting if ECC could be mined fairly.

Between those three things, it's no wonder that you weren't credited with many ECC. The good news is that you would probably still earn some ECC for the first few blocks that will be found after you quit, if you quit now. That effect will be less as the green line drops, though. And of course it won't happen at all once the PoW phase ends.

It's a basic fact that you can't know who anyone on the internet really is. (Even if you once knew, someone else could hack their accounts and take over.) People who are scammers know how to fake identities and hide their own. There is unfortunately no point in asking.

PoW (Proof of Work) refers to normal coin mining. Most coins do that. It's pretty easy to find information about it. For example, if you go to the Dogecoin Mining Subreddit, you can find information about mining DOGE. The ability to mine ECC will end in a few days.

PoS (Proof of Stake) refers to something that is like gaining interest on the coins you already have. In the case of ECC, when you open your wallet and it synchronizes, any coins that have been there for over 42 days will earn more coins at the equivalent of a 21%/year interest rate. (The rate will reduce in future years.) You can't earn more than 84 days worth of interest at a time though, so you will want to open your wallet at least every month or so. I have yet to find anything that explains how this works in detail for any coin, though. Other coins do it and people seem happy, so it must work.

Just keep your wallet unlocked and you you will be fine . Nothing more

Hostmaster, can you share some details about the person that ran ECCHouse?  Unless they make things right with the people mining for them, we should all be aware of who they are so we can avoid them in the future.

So how do PoS and PoW works do i have to do something with the wallet for it to work? if someone could guide me in direction where i can find out more about PoS and PoW i would be a happy panda.
