eMunie Open Beta 1

http://forum.emunie.com/index.php?/topic/1339-ob1-whats-in-and-whats-not-saturday-1st-feb-2014/

Download:  Not yet available

Release: 9PM UTC 1st Feb 2014
Duration: 2 weeks ending 15th Feb 2014

An open beta of the current eMunie client will be released to the public, and be freely available for download and general use on the above date.

The purpose of this open beta is to provide a real world environment test of the eMunie network & systems to allow us to pinpoint any potential issues, and have an opportunity to fix them before V1.0 launch.

Additionally, this open beta is to allow parties interested in the upcoming IPO to "test drive" the system so that they can be sure eMunie is the right investment opportunity for them.

Note:  All eMu, ENS entries, Assets, Messages, Chat and other data will be DELETED at the end of the OB1 session, and the OB1 beta will cease to function!

Whats in?

At the present time, most of the core eMunie features are in place and have been developed to completion and seen many rounds of beta testing.  Furthermore a large number of the peripheral services such as messaging and chat are developed to a basic level and are also present in OB1.

Following is a brief list of the main feature set for the OB1 client:

Anonymous, encrypted transactions
Transaction messages
Block-tree record model
Core functional complete assets
Complete ENS (eMunie Name System)
Basic implementation of secure, encrypted messaging
Basic implementation of ERC (eMunie Relay Chat)
Basic implementation of ratings and profiles
Basic economics model for inflation/deflation of supply
API interface for most of the above features

Whats not in?

A few components of the eMunie system are not present or enabled in OB1.  This is due to them either still being in final development, have remaining issues pending investigation or are in final beta testing, with some scheduled to be enabled for OB2.

Following is a list of components not enabled for OB1:

Distributed P2P exchange (OB2 scheduled)
Distributed market place (OB2 scheduled)
Final economic model
API calls for the above
Remote admin panel for clients
The above features once completed and tested will complete the feature list for the V1.0 launch client scheduled in March.

Known Issues

There are a number of minor issues we are aware of currently and will likely be present in the OB1 release.  These are mainly GUI issues, some of which are localized to MacOS systems, but do not pose much other than an annoyance to normal operation of the client.

Most of these known issues will be resolved for the OB2 release in a few weeks time, plus any issues found & reported during OB1.

How can you help?

We are very excited about the OB1 release this weekend and hopefully, no major issues will be discovered.  However, to expect a perfectly clean and bug free client would be naive, so if you do spot anything that seems wrong or out of the ordinary, please do report it on the forum so that we can investigate and improve the user experience of the client, no matter how small the issue may seem.
