We need a simple wallet. Mist sucks.

I find Mist simple and easy to use. I have used it a couple of times without any problems.

I shall play devil's advocate, as is my want.
Ive heard tell that 1500 ETH is the min amount for staking rewards in the future of ETH PoS
Now people r talking PoS pools

My comment: this is bullshit and the "thin end of the wedge". It's a peer-to-peer system, right? no more "masternodes" in a dual-tier system, right?? FFS  Angry

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if 1500 is the minimum, would make sense given current supply.  POS pools will be popular because even with 1500 you will forge one block every year or so (using other POS coins as example).  I'm more interested in "when" ETH is switching to POS and how that will affect new supply as I'm assuming it will be a hybrid POW/POS for a while.

I'm unclear to me as to why there is a minimum requirement at all. I have never known of any PoS coin to have such a minimum requirement and that it is set at over $1500 (with ETH over a buck) seems a bit rich. Additionally it seems to me PoS pools would inevitably lead to greater centralization, particularly if staking larger amounts skews the rewards (which it might not)

I dont get this decision and am unfamiliar with the technical justification for making it.
Could somebody enlighten me?

I think it is a bad idea to set up a minimum amount for staking. It will remove many many users.

Guys,

I'm pleased to announce that we have added Ethereum coin. At the moment there's not much invested (~1200 ETH) but you can fix this and get some nice profits from start as we are the only casino which has Ethereum support.

Regards,
Alex.

Great news for Ethereum community.

A mechanism is built into the Ethereum protocol to make PoW (GPU) mining insanely difficult sometime in mid-2016, which will force miners to switch to Proof of Stake if they hope to stay competitive.

The main developer for the proposed proof-of-stake algorithm (CASPER) is Vlad Zamfir. Radio interview: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/3t2cph/vlad_zamfir_bringing_ethereum_towards/ Slide deck from DEVCON day 1: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bV_vXJBko-DmhAgnOFYg8ZNbAvCZCZrlf0KBFPqwVIw (The DEVCON day 1 video was removed by Youtube for some reason.)

macro MIN_DEPOSIT: 1500 * 10**18

macro MAX_DEPOSIT: 60000 * 10**18

https://github.com/ethereum/pyethereum/blob/serenity/ethereum/casper.se.py#L9

Minimum bonding stake size: 1500 ETH.

Why would you have to wait with mining ?

Because Genesis Mining is still in maintenance and I was going to purchase some ETH mining hashrate there. Unless there is another ETH mining service, then I could decide on which to invest. But it seems to me that the only one is Genesis by now.  Sad

There is still http://rigs.online but there is not much hash offered, also the site is still in beta.

It depends how much you are willing to pay per hash, you can probably also just rent some physical rigs from miners.

oc miner can i mine with my A2 Terminator Scrypt miner:)
i have 8x 110M ASIC mining..

unfortunately not, it's not scrypt, it's a keccak variant algo (dagger hashimoto) - you could mine in a multipool...

Hmm.. Is there a Multipool that pays out in ETH currently ??

yes i believe that thet user could use Prohashing, as the are scrypt and pay in ETH Wink

Why should I invest in Ethereum?

It's good for day trading, has nice swings and good volume.

Thanks!  I will take a look.  Besides if it is since worth about $1US it is now or never if I want to make a great return.

You should invest in Ethereum if you see promise in its utility, not because of volume or trading.
Thanks for your advice.

there is a sense in creating a node for Ethereum and what is the payment and how to make it faster, but not, although they say that this is a very time consuming process ?
