I cannot understand why they implemented a blocktime of 15sec, this would result in a massive blockchain after some years. Instead they should have fixed the mempool to allow network wide consensus... big failure imho

Ethereum ipo investors took a huge risk buying last summer. Not only did they have no idea when or if they would ever see these tokens, bitcoin value has dropped to less than half since they bought in - meaning they need the ether price in satoshis to more than double just to break even. While I think they deserve nice profits for their risk, it won't be from me - this is one show I'm not paying to watch.

As ETH trades for 5x+ IPO price currently, skeptics like you and I are left holding our dicks. Doesn't make sense why a currency with a broke dev team is trading at 100m market cap, but maybe we're wrong as our sidelined BTC goes to 0 and ETH goes to $1000.  Grin

Wth are you talking about? you mean ethercoin? this is a scam with nearly all volume faked.
I don't know for certain if ethereum will ever even hit exchanges at this point. Ipo buyers have the possibility of a complete loss, although chances are it will trade at some point. Ethereum may be worth a lot someday, but I can almost guarantee prices in usd lower than ipo before that happens - probably a lot lower.

ethercoin and ether is completely different.

https://gatecoin.com/blog/2015/07/gatecoin-exchange-launches-ether-trading/

Haven't tried it.

there are only buy orders as they can't make transactions

In relativity to the current hashrate, what should the USD price be?

read somewhere on reddit that the person currently needs around $1.5 worth of electricity to mine one Ether.

This will be like every other alt for the next six months, price will tank as those that bought the ICO will want to secure their windfall.

If the coin can survive the first six months, then maybe it will have a shot. my guess is it won't.

I am NOT buying.

As ETH trades for 5x+ IPO price currently,

source?

where can I dump my IPO ETH for a x5 profit?

Sad If you hold your ETH for a long time then you will get x50 profit, Frontier is just beginning, there will be many DAPP built on Ethereum, many of them are very promising, Ethereum will build another huge cypto currency system as Bitcoin.

That doesn't mean much if the IPO purchases can't be redeemed anywhere....unless I've missed something?  Where can they be redeemed?
