Temporary forum vacation

Thank you for the link to guide. IT does not actually know the good price to use though, maybe a guide on what gas fee should I pay and how to determine that step by step?

Yes, it's really problem. For example, I wanted to buy NFT on opensea with price 15$ using Metamask, but I couldn't. Commission was about 90$. I tried to set gas lower, but then transaction failed.

The last few days gas prices have gone up now it is above 100 gwei price and even the cost of minting NFTs apparently is above $200, so yes, this is a problem now and once ETH crosses $5000 it is a race to see if ETH 2.0 will fix it or will Layer2 solutions become more widely adopted. Moving to BSC is a temporary solution only.

[GUIDE] ETH Gas Price. That topic was created yesterday and can help newbies to know where to get Gas Price stats, chart and choose good gas price to use. Not too low, not too high to save gas price but still don't have stucked transactions.

I always wondered how people/newbies were paying so much, I mean yes I even have to pay the same gas fees like everybody else but even I learned on my own quite quickly how to play it safe,,, while not paying too much, plus you always can speed it up if it does not work out.

Then I realized later every wallet seems to work very different.

"The Merge
There was agreement on the August 20th All Core Devs call that there will be no new EIPs included in Eth1 before The Merge. Getting to proof of stake is now the top priority for Ethereum devs "

"Altair
The Altair beacon chain upgrade will be deployed on the Prater testnet on September 2nd, at epoch 36660. See PSA-2, above..
The date for upgrading the beacon chain proper has not yet been set in stone, but is likely to be September 30th, all being well.

"Given that, we agreed to *not* have a "feature fork" in December. This means that we'll likely push back the difficulty bomb, and perhaps add other "one line" changes, but won't be including new EIPs before the Merge."

The developer is preparing the community for the fact that this year Merge should not be expected, and the Merge testnet will be launched after the Altair testnet.

Yesterday, i have paid 26$ to send a token worth 60$.
At the time of writing this post, Eth-Gas-Station proposes 120 for fast transaction and 83 for standards and 165 in the trader option which is really insane. For those who think that Fork will help decrease the gas fee, i want to inform them that this won't happen for sure. Miners still have the authority to determine the gas limit, unless all users start migrating from Eth to other alternatives (BSC for instance).

I also have tokens in my wallet that are worth less than the fee charged. I have one that to withdraw $177 I have to pay $32, for me, it's a high value and a reasonable loss.

The fee is crazy right now. Ethgasstation suggest 102 for an instant transfer and lowest is in 67 gwei as the standard. A while ago I've seen it on 93 gwei and that already surprised me.
I thought that the fork will give significant decrease to the fees .

Crazy? I say it's insane, yesterday I got scared when I saw that the gas fee for a few moments was around 250 Gwei or more. At other times it reached 400 Gwei. It is practically impossible to transfer small amounts, if you transfer $100, half is just to pay the fee...

A failure of the Palantir software, thanks to which several FBI employees received unauthorized access to the personal data of the Ethereum Foundation developer Virgil Griffith. For Virgil Griffith, the alleged violation of his constitutional rights may be a potential remedy. Now lawyers are studying the available legal options.

Experts have not ruled out that the incident may indicate a broader problem with the use of Palantir by the FBI. https://nypost.com/2021/08/25/fbi-palantir-glitch-allowed-unauthorized-access-to-private-data/

Do you know how
@sarcophagusio
 works? ⚒️🛠️

Take a look at the explanation below, it explains the problem and the solution quite easily.
#Ethereum #arweave #ETH $SARCO

https://medium.com/sarcophagus-community/sarcophagus-a-dead-mans-switch-92e70de66554

A dead man’s switch is a mechanism (digital or physical) that triggers when the user fails to perform an action.

The combination of Ethereum’s network and the permanent file storage network that Arweave provides is the perfect storm for creating the dead man’s switch that Sarcophagus offers.
From a technical perspective, it works because Ethereum allows for an immutable contract to be hosted for the duration of the contract and Arweave’s technology allows for files to be stored and retrieve upon execution.
The perfect storm of technology to protect assets from the unforeseen.

If you mine ETH, just set the fee around 25-35 max max, and be patient.  theres no point in paying a higher fee.
edit: might have to wait a year or two

For those who use the Geth client, the developers have released a new version of Geth v1.10.8, which fixes a serious vulnerability in the code, according to the developers, all versions of Geth that support the London hard fork are vulnerable.

I have 1070 cards, what is the best miner for Ethereum with these cards?
These video cards are no longer overclocked, the average hash rate is 27-29 megahash.
https://2miners.com/blog/best-ethereum-mining-software-for-nvidia-and-amd/
"The only open-source mining software Ethminer came third. It doesn’t charge a developer’s fee, so hashrates in the program and in the pool are almost identical with a 0.01% difference. As you can see, if mining software is free, it doesn’t mean that you get more profit. If you choose Gminer or T-rex, you gain more."

Thank you. I am using Gminer.

Not your keys, not your coins!
I read about that in the news too. He has already returned some of the funds and wants to return the rest. The amount of Binance Coin he stole was a shock. Here is the tweet: https://twitter.com/PolyNetwork2/status/1425509322126024708

$342 million (As of 12 Aug 08:18:29 AM +UTC) of assets had been returned:
Ethereum: $4.6M
BSC: $252M
Polygon: $85M

The remaining is $268M on Ethereum

Did he really carry out the hack just expose a vulnerability?
It's weird.

Even it is his intention with the hack, he took risk by himself just to help the Poly Network or the crypto community. I don't think it is the intention because taking risk like that is very stupid.

What is really reason behind the hack and refund?
