Another positive news - Opera Adds Ethereum Support to Its Mobile Browser

Opera became the very first mainstream browser to implement native cryptocurrency and Ethereum Web 3.0 functionality on Wednesday. The company added support for digital currencies and blockchain interaction to the closed-beta edition of its Android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.browser.

Opera’s built-in wallet currently supports ETH and ERC20 tokens completely, which means that users wishing to join their beta will be able to store most assets based on Ethereum instantly. Fungible (ERC721) tokens, such as CryptoKitties, are limited in support – as of now CryptoKitties is one of the few ERC721 assets Opera supports.

Opera’s entry into cryptocurrency might truly bring mass adoption in the coming future. It is one of the most popular apps on Google’s Play Store, having over 100 million downloads – not including its reach in other countries such as China. Opera’s decentralized web support makes it a direct alternative to existing Web 3.0 browsers on mobile devices, like Status.im and Coinbase’s Toshi browser.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin comes up with seven difficult questions for the cryptoverse

Vitalik Buterin asked

1. “Bitmain and affiliated pools now have ~53% of all bitcoin hashpower. Isn't this a really big problem?”
2. "Why aren't there any useful large-scale applications yet?"
3. "Why are there not yet good solutions to account security? When will the problem of account hacks and thefts be solved?"
4. "How can decentralized apps work well even with 5-10 second blockchain latency?"
5. "PoW is burning billions of dollars per year, even more than all scams and thefts combined, Isn't this a big tragedy?"
6. "What are the centralization risks in proof of stake?"
7. "Given how EOS governance has turned into an epic fail, doesn't this mean that all on-chain governance including DAOs is fundamentally flawed? How can any DAO deal with bribe attacks, plutocrats and other risks?"

If you have the answers to Vitalik Buterin's questions, drop your views at [email protected].
Top ten answers will be sent to Vitalik Buterin.

https://bcfocus.com/news/ethereum-co-founder-vitalik-buterin-comes-up-with-seven-difficult-questions-for-the-cryptoverse/18297/
Very smart quesitons from Vitalik.
These ones are real challenges for Bitcoin team and Bitcoin network at the current phase of crypto ecosystem.
Bitcoin have to find a way to solve them if don't want to lose its leading role in crypto world.

Agree, like Ethereum there are many people working for Bitcoin in the background but today they didn't come up with a solution but in future, there is a possibility for Bitcoin to dominance again. Ethereum is the second dominance currency after the Bitcoin every time.

With these questions he makes some excellent points.

Ethereum price is dropping harder than other coins in top 10, don’t know why this is happening

The price did not drop a lot recently. That could be the reason.
Well i think there is good news about the ethereum https://cointelegraph.com/news/ethereum-s-joe-lubin-we-re-moving-into-phase-two-of-eth-blockchain-this-year/amp that's solutions for ethereum to be more good in the future, however ethereum is good coins in fundamental of aspects, the short fluctuation in the price ignore it except if you search the profit from trading activity.

Ethereum blockchain moving into "phase two", says co-founder Joe Lubin

Joe Lubin

During a panel discussion with Village Global’s Erik Torenberg and Arbor Ventures’ Melissa Guzy, Lubin said the company is moving "into a space where Ethereum can serve as the layer one trust system, and built into Ethereum we’ll have hundreds of thousands of transactions in the layer two systems and we’re going to see that ramified this year."

Lubin gave the example of Plasma, which is an on-chain scaling solution for Ethereum. This was introduced back in August 2017 by Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Poon, creator of Bitcoin’s own Lightning Network, which could also be thought of as a "layer two" solution.

Torenberg agreed that this year would be a transitional one: "if 2017 was the year of the [initial coin offering] ICO, then 2018 is for the building and delivery of products."

that's great news about eth developments
moving into phase two means more speed of transaction and the congestion problem will be solved
i am waiting for the the layer two development so all other projects same like eth but with more transaction speed will be meaning less
and the project using Dapps on eth network will run easy
I will believe the POS will become a very very huge news for every ethereum holders and that's why i was increasing my holders into ethereum as much as i can. Remember ethereum has so many on and off chain development program and that makes sense to see the ethereum phase two will begin.
That's great! we are still holding Ethereum and still trying to filling up bags with Ethereum.
Founders made good decision to start the development, let's hope ethereum network will be not overload again.
There are many positive improvements on the way.

lol it has been started since ethereum foundation has created. there is a lot of articles and experts are seeing Fcoin exchange site just like or very similar to the ponzi scheme and i suggest you read that in the crypto news site. But it looks like plasma and sharding combined with POS casper will be the first thing to be implemented.

Ethereum price is dropping harder than other coins in top 10, don’t know why this is happening

LOL cos it is full of holes and whales have controlled/pump/dump the price for the last 2 years, that's why! hahahaha.  you think any of ETH valuation is really worthwhile since then?!  i'm shocked it's worth more than $10 bucks still hehahaha.  BUT made great money for holders.

meanwhile, DLS >>> ETH anyhow so eth won't matter in the next year.

Hello everybody. Everything is quite real, you just need to give Vitalik time to realize his ideas. I wish success to all.

Vitalik hypothesis of banks running their offchain scaling solutions is slightly controversial.
