You mean sharding. Sharding effectively makes many side chains, isolated from others, such that validators for some shards don't have to validate transactions from other shards. I don't see what you mean by "cause many side chains to disappear".

Yup slowly, coins moves on their own blockchain. Coins wants to be independent of BTC. So they each coin will have their own market value. Coins will no longer be drag down by btc when btc goes down. This is quite clearly what is happening now. I notice this because like ethereum, litecoin and ripple are starting to have an exchange directly to fiat money. In my country you could already exchange ethereum to our fiat money directly. Quite cool right. No need to convert first to btc before ethereum. Direct exchange from eth to fiat.

There are hundred of projects that raised money through ETH and at some point they will all need to dump at least a part of ETH collected during ICOs
But how long will this happen? Eventually ethereum price will be rise in near future and other projects will not able to dump the value of eth.
What you describe is the essence of Ethereum to a certain degree. Once the decentralized applications start to function the demand will increase significantly. To accommodate that demand the price will increase.
Ethereum has entered a new adjustment cycle, and this adjustment target will be around $488. I have already prepared some USDT to wait for this price to buy.
I don't think it will go below $500. There will just be too many people jumping in to use the opportunity and get a good entry point.
You never know what the goals of the big guys in this game are. If they want to see the price go below $500, they will make it happen.

The motivation will always be there and the means to catch that manipulation need to develop now. It's difficult for regulators to catch them as of right now.
Maybe as of right now yes, but blockchain is also very transparent at least when it comes to coins like Ethereum or Bitcoin. And there are businesses that have strong analytical capabilities and in addition a lot of regulatory pressure on exchanges. Maybe it's not so easy to manipulate very soon.
But don't forget there are so many ways to manipulate the market. Look at Tether they didn't even have to provide an audit report until today. It's crazy what is possible in the market.

Blockchain's usage is spreading steadily and until it will need to handle larger transactions on permanent basis, more solid solution will be found out. Ethereum is also being upgraded in this regard to face the challenges and remain as important player in this space. We will see many short termed solutions but in the long run time tested like Ethereum will still be winners.
