eth statistics actually went down in a few months. Well, previously, eth has a very good price and quite stable, but the current price is below 0.01 BTC, so I conclude that, perhaps eth still rather difficult to survive in the presence of the coins of a new, even more so after the appearance of the coins from ico. well, but I just hope that its price will rise again

I'd wager that both of them think they got all they can from that particular collaboration and decided to go their separate ways.
IIRC Ethereum got "tested/evaluated" by R3. "Testing/evaluation" may be that they forked it off git and ran some meager-in-scope, half-ass evaluation. Not like it was announced that Ethereum became the official coin of R3 or something like that. I've always considered that particular piece of news was misconstrued to hype people up.
Additionally, I would give Ripple the edge over Ethereum when it comes to "permissioned blockchain" or however you like to call it.
