We will be having the first Ether-1 community meeting on 11/2/18 from 9-10PM EDT. We will have a few team members available to answer questions and discuss the future of Ether-1! Hope to see you there!

Why would you call your project Ether -1? What's the purpose of doing such thing. I know that the main reason is to capitalize on the Ethereum name but I don't get the value proposition you generate by doing that. I think this team, as many other ones try to capitalize on ethereum by the name, by a similar feature and stuff like that.

Update: etho.bylt.gq Is now currently running on the main chain.

Ether-1 has successfully forked at block 1 million.
There are two pools who have not updated software and are currently not on the main ETHO chain.
If you are mining with minerpool or etho.bylt.gq please redirect your hash to another Ether-1 pool until these two pools update their software and join the main Ether-1 blockchain.

A reminder to anyone running an Ether-1 mining pool or solo mining to make sure you update to our newest release prior to the 1 million block.
Only about 8500 blocks until the reward reduction fork.

It boils down to the way they're implementing IPFS across their masternodes.  They'll be able to host web content or dapps distributed across their masternodes.  (As opposed to a project like Pirl which you need an app to interface with their content.)  As far as I know, no one else is implementing anything like this.  Here's the paragraph summary:

Ether-1 is an Ethereum based blockchain that integrates POW and a two tier masternode system to secure the network. Ether-1 uses the collective power of hundreds of masternodes to power EthoFS, a fully decentralized hosting platform that uses combination of a blockchain indexing system and the ipfs protocol to deliver decentralized content on-demand. Users can interface with the EthoFS network through variety of ways, including an innovative instantaneous browser based node, allowing them to drag and drop content they wish to deploy and index on the blockchain. The browser based node automatically uploads and replicates the content to the entire network. The ethoFS system is a fully functioning website hosting solution utilizing the node network for storage and bandwidth. Masternode owners are paid through a block reward, and receive a share of the profit generated by hosting fees, an innovative way for node owners to take ownership in providing network functinality and security.
