try using this for a bootstrap. (possibly won't be compatible).
it needs to be called "bootstrap.dat" and put in your datadirectory

if it bugs out before finishing,
rename it back to "bootstrap.dat" and try again.

it's up to around block 352000

Thanks bumba, just to be clear, it goes in the exclivecoin file in appdata/roaming where the config, wallet, ect is right?

absolutely Smiley
you dont' need to delete the old chain or anything, it'll continue from where it is up to.

i just noticed there's also a bootstrap available here, http://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=881
but i dont see any info's on how old/current it is.

also..If we are going to do a hardfork then we should consider uping the masternode rewards to somewhere near 50% to encourage ppl to create more masternode?

I agree, I think a 7500 requirement and a 50% masternode reward is a good incentive for people to invest in the network long term while also incentivizing buying the currency.

it is actually 50% atm, seems a incorrect amount in OP

I just got my first EXCL masternode running! Many thanks to bumbacoin who wrote an extremely helpful article on the process. http://bumbacoin.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/how-to-setup-exclusive-coin-master-node.html

I have read some people stating a proposed increase to the masternode minimum from 5000 to 7500 coins. I would gladly purchase more at this stage in development but as the demand increases, the high buyin will phase new investors out. With so many coins adopting the masternode system, it would be wise to keep the amount lower to be in the same space as say DASH for instance.

Sticking with 5k masternodes is good if the price rises. I still think that a 50% reward would incentivize more people to start nodes.

Def stay with 5k masternodes! Is there an easy guide to set one up ? Do you know a hosting service that workw with excl ? And how many nodes can i run on raspberry pi ?

I'd definitely vote to keep masternodes at 5k, especially since our coin count is so nice and low, only 4million in circulation, people are starting to get excited about getting a stake in EXCL; currently the most affordable masternode available!

Btw epic price action today, we'll be approaching a $1-2mil evaluation sooner than we think!

Without knowing details of this coin, I would say that you want a balance between masternodes both holding supply and available for the network, but make sure you keep enough coins for liquidity.  This is the issue facing MN coins if they are adopted for use.  From the little I have read so far, you have a mechanism for ppl to need the coin, the small pressure from many users would be better to raise price over time rather than speculation on MN or staking rewards.  Good network with a chunk held sets the base and the use and need for coins drives the price.

Good luck, sounds like a good project.

UPDATES/ROADMAP

Things we can do now:
Fix some memory issue on wallets.
Making ipv6 usage better on the network.
Fork number of coins needed to make MasterNode to bigger number for example 7500.

Future updates:
We are working and testing possible implementations of Zerocash protocol on the chain to get even more anonymous.
We also test making testing Electrum wallet fork from dashpay/electrum-dash

Please discuss if you are interested in MN number change. This would require a hardfork so with this we could do more changes in the code too. Let us know your ideas and opinions.

If the number of coins needed for a masternode is raised won't that cause problems later on when the price increases? People will be less likely to have 7500 compared to 5000. Also what's happening with that major exchange integration?
I'm glad to see some active development for this coin though, especially with the subreddit and slack channel to get more people involved

Can I run 2 masternodes from the same IP ?

yes, you'll end up with each mn details in yr masternode.conf
each one will need it's own seperate line with full appropriate details.

http://bumbacoin.blogspot.com.au/2016/07/how-to-setup-exclusive-coin-master-node.html

This is driving me nuts lol any idea what causes this?

i used to get this problem with another coin, i dont remember how i dealt with it :p
the error "should" indicate that the transaction is not available to the wallet, either because it doesnt exist, or the address does not belong to the wallet.

suggestions.
- check that the wallet actually contains the actual tx/key.

- start with a fresh/empty wallet, and import the privkey.
- send the 5000 coins again to create a new tx.
- maybe a blockchain rescan might help. . .

Hey bumba , can you upload your file with the completely synced blockchain because syncing is taking a lifetime. I have had it running over 10 hours and have only processed a few weeks.

The exchange news are real just to not give them extra headaches we prefer to first update network than get added and few days later give them extra work. If we wanna do HF its best to be done before adding 3rd exchange which is around now.

The deal is sure and i dont think anything can change with small delay - especially delay due to updating the coin.

We are not sure about changing MN numbers - so you guys as community can speak.

there's an obvious balance to be made
masternodes lock coins away from being available for either staking or being used as money. but we need lots !!!

after doing some budget maths on a recent PoS reward in the explorer, it is far more lucrative to run a masternode at the moment.

to make staking more attractive either PoS reward could be made more attractive, or encourage moar masternodes (which will dilute mn rewards) - raising the amount would plausibly make staking moar attractive, but at the cost of less masternodes ?

..
is the memory issue you mention fixing the cause of masternodes stopping?
this will also help increase the number of masternodes.

Yes I went into File, Backup Wallet .., saved the .dat file and then replaced the current .dat file with a previous auto-saved.dat file. I received an error message about the client not being found and the wallet crashed. I restarted the wallet with a zero balance although the block chain was still synced. I cannot access the private keys now. I may have just burned a masternode.

why cant you acccess the private keys now?

have you tried different wallet backups?

Its because now I have a different wallet entirely it seems. if I request a dumpprivkey on the console, I get this message: Private key for address EaAi5DsnT7Qmo2NEWQP7nweNPowTqnZmmj is not known (code -4). but I didn't do that before replacing the .dat file before so I think I lost my old wallet with all the coins. Damn.

Question: In your guide you say to enter rpcallowip=127.*.*.*:* into the .conf file. Is that is supposed to be replaced with my specific ip address found through getpeerinfo?

oooo, does sound bad :p
there are 10 automatically created backups in my exclusivecoin/backups folder, do you have other ones to try? i assume that every time i start up it replaces the oldest one so make a backup of them all might be a good idea.

rpcallowip=127.*.*.*:*
is to allow local rpc connections such as miners for PoW, it is not actually necessary for the masternodes.

Yes that was a costly mistake and I will definitely be more cautious from now on. That's one way to create scarcity I guess. I have 5000 more coins so I am starting the node and just needed that clarification on the .config file instructions- thanks!

so far the 3 users in slack think 5k for a MN is a good number to stick with, but we're also curious about others opinions. is the 10% of rewards set in stone, or is that something else that maybe changed? not sure what % is ideal, but PIVX seems to be doing pretty well with 50% for MNs and the other 50% for stakers.
