basically it was our fluttercoin, which was the first coin to not rely on exchanges. You could openly trade bitcoin / litecoin on our wallets. LOL. the idea basically was based on P.O.T. but there was an exchange infrastructure which was funded by all the transactions going back and forth from all the flutter users. I don't quite remember the details but I thought it was a fun dream. haha

did you just finish telling us your dream story, from like 10 pages ago? lol

If I understand this correctly, reduced hashing power will not jeopardize the security of the block-chain, since PoS has already kicked in? So basically if some miners drop after the reward is reduced, we should not really care?

i think so. i read over the PoS white paper, it seems like it's just as secure as PoW. I kind of skimmed it though.

i didn't see anything about stake weight. still not sure exactly how the PoS minting works. i think you get a maximum of 5% per year, absolute max. so if you have a million coins, and you dont send them at all, after 1 year you would have 1 million and 50,000 coins. not sure how the 1 month and 3 month plays into it.

Unless the source code has changed 5% is the minimum amount earned per year. Maximum is 100% depending on stake difficulty.

Quote
percentage is variable depending upon the Stake ready coins on the network. It starts out at 100% yearly and decreases based on the stake difficulty.
100% NVCS = 100% / (StakeDiff ^ 1/4)

Here it is from the updated OP then on upcoming reward halvings :

------------------------------

SPECIFICATIONS

There is no maximum number of coins, though roughly 224 million coins will be produced through POW

BLOCK REWARDS

    Block 22001 - 34750: Static reward 5000 - now
    Block 34751 - 39791: Static reward 2500 - 8 days from now
    Block 39792 - 44832: Static reward 1250 - 15 days
    Block 44833 - 49873: Static reward 625 - 22 days
    Block 49874 - 54914: Static reward 312.50 - 29 days
    Block 54915 - 59955: Static reward 156.25 - 36 days
    Block 59956 - 64996: Static reward 78.125 - 43 days
    Block 64997 - 70037: Static reward 39.0625 - 50 days
    Block 70038 - 332838: static reward 20 - 57 days from now
------------------------------

So the current block is 28861.
http://explorer.fluttercoin.us/

There are 5,890 blocks to go till there will be half as many coins being mined.
Then 5,040 block after that it will be halved again.

7 days = 5,040 blocks

So in 8 days this coin will have half as many coins to mine and 7 days after that half again and so on.
Prepare for some serious increase in value.

There are currently     143,303,967 coins according to :
http://flutterchain.us/

There are only about 81 million coins left to mine for PoW and reward halving about every 7 days.
Better get your mining on massively.

idk yet, reading in between everything else i'm doing. have work 2moro (today, now 3am here) and poker so I can't do much. i think all i need are a server, domain, ddos protection like cloudflare, and modified pool and auto-coin-profitability binaries. Need to find binaries on how to pay out. i have an idea: if i can import 24 hour miner data between from the actual mining pool to the FLT mining pool paying out, I can withdraw the mined coins, sell them for FLT, and deposit them into the FLT mining pool to pay miners. I have no clue if it works like that, or if there's an easier way. wallets being hacked i'm not worried about, keep them locked until i'm ready to withdraw or payout, the beauty of one payout per day. At least I have an idea now and thinking about it, gonna tinker as soon as I can. Even if someone else makes a multipool by the time (if) I can get one running, we are still ahead.

You can setup the multipool to select whichever algo you want, as long as it's an option in the software. you can use coinwarz in certain ones to aim the hashes towards the profitable coins.

been reading up... lol

how much is the start up cost? you need a domain i'm assuming, what else?

downloaded new wallet, working fine.

kidcoin, or anyone else, can you explain what Your Weight and Network Weight values mean?

Stake weight...  I gotta get to bed I have to leave at 245am (3 hours LOL)

or start it mining a scrypt coin or coins, and switch to scrypt-n if the hashrate spikes too high to be profitable.

Or make the first X11 multipool. I know it might look as if it's too early for this but you can mark this post and check the situation in a couple of months.

have a good flight. if it's not first class this time, once flutter takes off you can just buy your own jet.

kidcoin, do you anything about multipools? can you steer me in the right direction? equipment, ddos protection, software etc, etc. I would try and setup a multipool and buy the right equipment, but I'd need guidance.

we should probably get an existing pool operator to run it. they can probably set it up fast since they have experience.

Yes ^^ use an existing one.
Yeah you really have to know what you're doing with a pool.  Everyone's coins are in your hands...

Accounting and setting payments to percentages of the hashrate shouldn't be too hard to set. I'll keep researching anyway for my own knowledge, if anything.. *shrugs*

editted additions:
it is a 'cryptodog eat cryptodog world' so if we don't fight back soon, i don't see as bright of a future but not a bad one either, we've been ok so far...

multipool mining also has greater effect with coins no longer mined via PoW. Still is good for mining while PoW exists too. Not suggesting anything, merely stating a fact.

well, PoW won't be around much longer. so by the time someone sets it up and it's working, PoW will be out the door for FLT. i wonder what coins we should mine on that multipool? if scrypt asics ship, unless some of us get one of the 250mh machines, we won't be able to mine much. maybe we should mine a scrypt n coin? sell that for btc, then buy flt

Where are you getting this LOL? POW will be around forever...the number of coins that are mined means nothing really, its the value.

And on top of that rewards will be pretty high for the next 2 months.

i meant like any significant amount. like you said, about 2 months. not sure how long it would take to set up the multipool.
