Main ICO will finished in 28 December? Its not a good time going to exchanges before New Year..

why is that bad?

due to the forks of btc and ethereum, october and november is a bad time for ico project but after that it should be pretty normal again. so december is good.
I hope all those forks will stop. Bitcoin Gold is just to spam people who don't know about it and just read Bitcoin and think it must have value.

i read that Gameflip received support from top tier venture capital investors in Silicon Valley?!
Sounds really nice Smiley

Do you have link to this report ? Is recently news?
If it's true , this is a big news to this project .

No, it's not really news, its already in their whitepaper (p. 1). The company was established 2014 and back then funded by VC investors, I think.

Hi dev, and everyone here in GameFlip thread. I just stumbled upon this thread. The look of the thread is not that much to look at. Especially on what it's actually selling -- a place to buy and sell gaming goods. However, when I peeked to their KickICO Gamflip page, I saw that their project is actually promising. Tapping to a Billion dollar industry of Game trade. This has so much potential, from game development to selling games in the same platform.  I think this will blow up if the gamers and newcomers in game will adopt this. I will now look deeper into this. Will read the WP. They are almost done in reaching their goal for the Eth collection of their soft cap. I think the four days left is plenty enough time to reach that goal.

Yes, December is good time. But not at the end  (before New Year). People will rest.. May be better finished in January or in the middle of December?

Of course a partnership with Steam is out of the question because it's a direct competitor. Gameflip is now depending on Valve's goodwill, but if they keep 'stealing' their profit I bet they'll restrict trading bots. The only way is to get around the platforms completely and that means the developers need to support Gameflip directly. That's what I'm understanding from "discussing a partnership with all of the major global game publishers".
I really think Steem would want a little more, connecting with a competitor who has rejected other partnerships so far is not easy, but there is scope for acting and strengthening

Yes December is not a so bad time to close an ico. I think even after the fork the market will be better than at the moment, the end of November could even be good I think. Gameflip is also a very nice project, i have no worries for the sucess of the ico.
After this fork drama, the crypto market circulation will be better.
i am wondering how devs dare to make an ico in such a time..... if its really that bad

There is always something going on in the crypto market. Before the forks it was China, and so on.
After the forks there will be something else... It's hard to do it now but when you see how much they collected in these times, congratz!

I'm sure the ICO will run great!

I guess we are searching for excuses for poor funded ICOs lately but maybe the hype is slowing down and we wont see such high investments anymore, at least not for most of projects.

It's bad for the ICO to be finished during the holidays. most poeple won't be thinking about investing at time.

Or you could argue that people can invest their Christmas bonus. Imo that ending date won't affect the success of the ICO much at all.

a christmas bonus of 20% for all tokens bought during christmas, would be very nice Smiley and push towards the hard cap even faster Smiley

And in some contries you get a christmasbonus too on december. So the investors win twice:)

I would be interesting to see how Gameflip would compare to Steam in terms of trading virtual items.

For what I know Steam is currently the market leader, so I wonder how will their compete with Gameflip

You can't really compare GameFlip and Steam in terms of trading virtual items. Steam is good for p2p trading, yes. But whenever you sell a virtual item on steam, you only get a balance on your steam account. You won't be able to cash that money out, you can only use it to buy other items or games from steam. With GameFlip you will be able to get real money for your virtual items that you can spend elsewhere.

Why does Steam prevent people from cashing out items? Is that because they don't want money to leave their store?

Because you have to spend all the money you received from them. They do not lose anything. Also huge commissions for sales are taken.

How does Gameflip connect with Steam? Through trading bots? I wonder how long Valve will condone this trade outside their shop. In the end Gameflip are competing with the Steam marketplace on Valve's own platform.

At the moment we are in the process of discussing a partnership with all of the major global game publishers - we should have some specific details available soon.

Valve's not a publisher except for their own few games. If what I'm reading between the lines is right then this could mean... game publishers may be dropping Steam for in-game items and use Gameflip instead.

I wonder if something like this can happen. I mean that the big publisher are going away from steam to join another platform, even if it is just for the ingame item trades. This would be a big loss for Steam then.

Steam is the referring point for video games today, almost everybody as an account there, thinking about it disappearing i don't thing its very likely. I would rather want to see Gameflipmake a partnership with it than anyone else

But partnering with steam is probably out of question as Steam itself is making good money with ingame item trades.

Info from their telegram which is usefull for people here:

Gameflip already has one of the largest US exchanges as a partner for cashing out power sellers on their existing Gameflip.com platform. The team has to be careful about discussing exchanges to avoid making it seem like they are marketing a security. But we're very confident it'll list on several major exchanges after the full-sale concludes.

Thanks for the information. Partnerships like this are reassuring for investors.

It does indeed, unfortunately they are not opening up on the name of the exchange, that would bring a bigger assurance, especially when the exchange would bring out the news ( I know, wishfull thinking will not make this happend).

Its a good step made by Gameflip to involve and exchange as partner on this.

It's quite rare that exchanges authorize public announcement before the end of the ICO.

Actually i saw hitbtc, livecoin or cryptopia announced before the end of ico. But if you are thinking about bittrex or poloniex it is not possible.

Hitbtc sometimes don't even wait for devs to contact them and just open an iou market so it is not a rare thing for this exchanges.
