Hi, we are several people. I am not the only developer on this project but the lead. I collaborated with fartbags from HEMP who built the HTML5 wallet. He's developed lots of great tech like a quick QR code generator containing some coins you can give away or maybe hide for others to find. We'll be rolling out some of this stuff in the future for GeoCoin. I developed all the digital geocashing functionality with another GIS developer. We have a web designer working on an improved GUI as well as a marketing director to push this out to the masses when the time is right. And of course since beta release we have a ton of beta testers.
This is a really cool idea. Bought some and going to give it a try.
I agree, just stumbled on this coin. Think of the ability to advertise and run promotions for events through geographic location. Gunna pick up a few to hold, see some potential in this one.
It's a perfect time to jump in, the price is low and the developers are rolling out a new feature (kinda opposite of the way it should be really.)

where did it say i dumped it? i think it is a cool project.
lol bought it yesterday and by "investment" it tanked. but today i was at my shit town bar and they saw a mysterious man placing a metal cilinder under a"famous" seat and they didnt understand it.. geocaching sans awkward as by geocoin.. lollll make shure to involve those geeks and provide a stable comm/forum/thing

This is awesome! Just dropped a few geocoins around my work area. Created a new account on my mobile device. On my lunch I walked around and pick all the geocoins up! This is the real deal.
Few minor comments
1) Maybe add a radius around the coin or a proximity to know when you are about to collect it.
2) Better mobile phone support. On my Android the "Geocollect" button is hard to scroll down to because of the map scroll view.
3) With that being said, this is a GREAT beta release.
