Hello people!
Im looking at GEO after this post from experienced investor on tradingview :
https://www.tradingview.com/chart/GEOBTC/Y6yBXKvA-GEO-In-a-world-with-1-Billion-Dollar-Dreams/I think the idea is great, no comment on that : thumbs up to the team for this.
BUT, there is a big but, some buts actually.
1. App design & TractionAfter three years of work, at the moment, the Android apps does not have so much traction and a poor design, not so much happening on it. I would be OK with that if project was 1 year old, but it's not the case.
2. Website/Team Credibility : Marketing Website does not show any white paper, not even the team : who are the devs, how many are they, what's their past experience. A little bit of marketing would be great. Being great devs is enough to create an app, but taking a project to success as a company is different : it needs structure, process, a vision. Not only technical skills. I hope these basics of entrepreneurship are not neglected by GEO team.
3. Structure & execution : having a great idea is not enoughThere's a say in my country when it comes to entrepreneurship/startups : "all is execution" meaning an idea is far away from being enough. What's hard and what brings you success is the ability to drive a project from A to Z with a vision, a business plan, a marketing/distribution strategy etc...
Does GEO team takes this into account ? From the last video published, which seemed really really cheap ( is not a critic it's just the fact ), i'm afraid we are here just with a great idea but that needs more vision, more marketing, more strategy. More people in the team, marketers for instance, and a bigger team, would probably help to develop more.
Don't expect a great idea alone to turn into big project. It's much more than that.
Any constructive answers are welcomed, I want to be convinced before I throw some money on GEO.
Thanks!
Totally agree with you. I was an early adopter and fan of this coin. I hope the devs will reach their goals.
GeoCoin is an ongoing project and we've proposed a lot of work and improvements in our recent Roadmap. Please understand that migrating to the Ubiq Network is a major improvement for the project and we're excited to be joining this growing community!
Just to clarify we do not have an Android app currently, you are likely being confused with GeoCoin Snap which is not affiliated or related to this project in any way. I made mention of this in the past video.
The last video was not meant to be some shock and awe amazing production, I was simply trying to provide as much information to the community in a quick and simple format. I had been getting a lot of questions regarding the swap process and details in the weeks leading up.
Just 'upping' this post so everybody can see it as I think all the points mentionned are still totally relevant.
I regret the dev's answer hardly adress marketing/business related questions. Only technicals stuff but honestly how does the end user cares about Ubiq network ? He wants an app, he wants an active FB, he wants blog posts in trendy blogs, he wants viral FB posts...
Without expanding the team you'll take too long to develop/structure and you'll have something cool in 10 years. You need to structure yourself as a company, with offices, adress, employees. Otherwise nothing big will come out, you will go from little feature to little feature, walking like a turtle, because no matter how great devs you are, you won't have enough productivity to manage & develop your project.
I mean are you a 10M$+ plus valuated project which is only represented by 2 devs 'in their room' ? If so, then we know why geocoin - no matter how good your idea is - doesn't attract that much new investors ...
