What will happen on Launch day?
On launch time: Release of Windows/Mac application which will give solo-miners a chance to grab some blocks/rewards
+30 Minutes: Release of first Giftcoin pool will be announced and sign-up will be open
+60 Minutes: Release of source code on Github, other pool operators will have a chance to open a pool for Giftcoin
+2 Hours: First official GiftCoin giveaway thread will be created!
You call it fair launch?
I do not have Windows. I do not have a Mac. I do use linux. Why do you think that only pool ops are using source? How can I make sure that the binary you built has no troian/backdoor in it? How can I make sure that the properties of the coin you claimed are the ones coded into the client?

The main question is, why would devs release the coin in earththcoin faucet's page and not their own? Then comes mine.
Earththcoin faucet's owner just re-uploaded it, I think.
