The community of Golos media blockchain is protesting against the mismanagement and straightforward damage to the project caused by CyberFund (top management team of Golos). We consider CyberFund’s actions illegal, and these are the reasons why.
Back in 2016, CyberFund arranged an ICO to make a fork of Steem. And since then there have been a lot of questionable actions, and a long history of ignoring the investors rights, and going against investors wishes, and diluting investors share, a lot of that context and evidence is saved in Golos blockchain. They used ICO funds to hire and train programmers during their tenure as part of GolosCore or Golosio teams, with a lot promised but never delivered.
Last year CyberFund made the decision to move to EOSIO codebase, and launch a new blockchain called CyberWay. This is being done without any consent from the community. There was no opinion poll regarding the move, which totally contradicts the DPoS principles. What we are witnessing right now is wasteful spending of ICO money or, rather to say what can be considered, open embezzlement.
A large part of Golos community is firmly against abandoning the curent chain during the move to EOSIO codebase, but CyberFund plans compulsory halting of the existing chain. Of all the community, CyberFund is the only entity with the access to ICO funds. GolosCore is a structural part of CyberFund, with their since their salaries are paid with ICO money, which contradicts the promises made to the community during the ICO. However, we would like to emphasize it once again: Golos community never made the decision to use this money for moving to EOSIO codebase. Another thing is that during the move CyberFund plans to default on GBG tokens, as well as severely dilute the existing share of Golos stakeholders.
Therefore, the community of Golos itself, using its own financial and labour resources, decided to maintain the original chain of Golos, as it is the project that the investors trusted their money to. The code is ready to be used right now. The fork is planned to be launched simultaneously with the compulsory transfer to EOSIO codebase to retain the original chain.
The community took the decision to eliminate CyberFund and all the accounts affiliated with it from the new fork of the original Golos chain, in order to allow no more misuse of the original stake that CyberFund granted itself for launching the chain, before it began actively misusing ICO money. The new fork is aimed at supporting the further development of the original Golos, according to its original aims and purposes.
Moreover, the community is against CyberFund's plan to forcefully swap Golos and GBG tokens for CyberWay tokens, while diluting the original shareholders and defaulting on the GBG debt. We would like to keep both listed just as they are. In preparation for the swap, CyberFund created a wallet emulator in attempt pass new CyberWay tokens as Golos ones - which completely contradicts the wishes and the intentions of the community.
Please find attached the code that the we are planning to use to maintain the original Golos chain. We would like to ask for your support, hoping you consider our actions as rightful and legal, unlike CyberFund’s arbitrariness. The community has been more than happy to be using Bittrex as the main trading platform, and would love to keep the mutually beneficial cooperation the way it exists.
