chrysophylax, please use GRN ticker, where you prefer and live us right to use it too, where your coin is not listed. Its not a property!
This
pool provide to us symbol GRNC and its ok. Green abbreviation is logic for GRN we choose it, when create coin and we will use it on our resources.
Our GRN is with 3D image of Globe and its separate from Granite, that created 4 years ago, as separate from Greencoin GRE.
I don't know who is Ahmed Bodi.
chrysophylax, what if one guy tomorrow creates 100500 blockchains with all 2 digits, 3 digits, 4 digits symbols? It will be all of his property? Do you think its honesty?
Of course not ...
It is merely integrity that makes the project has substance, not just longevity. This is what brings about a loyal following, not where you create a coin and name it after two other coin iterations (V1 and V2) AND take a different coins ticker to use. Logic is easy when you glue those two pieces of facts together. Logic should prevail, but it doesn't. In your example shows two things here.
1 - ANYONE can create a coin and project with no substance whatsoever.
2 - What sort of following and community base would you have if this is the way you disrespect the long term people in Crypto? Wouldn't that show that since you have no respect for the us, then the community would have even less respect because you cannot think of something original? Your example proves the fact that people can see right through that type of 'project' creation and KNOW WHOLE HEARTEDLY that who ever sets something that is not original is more likely to be after ONE thing and that one thing alone, and it usually isn't for the benefit of the community but rather their pockets. This is why respect plays a massive part in the Industry - especially with the long term people and developers.
Which brings me to the point of Ahmed Bodi. You really don't know who he is?
Slush was the dev that created the stratum protocol for pool mining, and Ahmed was pretty much the guy that setup the entire backend system and stratum for this protocol, stratum-mining and most of its code. He is a huge developer for the backend systems, more than just stratum code, but coin code and many other backend developments. Had it not been for Ahmed, a LOT of the backend systems would still be in it's infancy.
So when you brush off veterans in this industry with your arrogance and persistence in the use of the stubborn road you have taken, you step on peoples toes that WILL eventually become people that you will eventually deal with, and need respect FROM. How will you earn that respect is you don't give it? By continuing on the path you have taken? Think about how that exposes you and your stubbornness to the public and people that are looking into your project. I assure you it NEVER looks good, and always ends up with issues and trouble later.
Your project is still young and YOU can still change a lot in it. If you do so, you will EARN respect instead of showing how disrespectful you are to to the people of crypto like developers, and eventually the community base you are trying to build. I t is not a good look nor a good attitude to show that you refuse to do anything about the issues that have been raised AND continue along this path you are taking.
If you are still new (and it seems you are), then take this as advice from someone like me who has been in this industry from pretty much the beginning, and have seen MANY of these types projects come and go because good advice was treated as an attack. I am persistent here ONLY because you have decided to hit home here in our company by duplicating the ticker of one of our long standing coins. Otherwise i would have 'advised' you and not said too much later.
As it stands, you persist, and so will I. You would do the same had the roles been reversed, if you actually CARED for your projects.
