well this new altcoin grin seems a great competitor of monero and zcash, for me privacy and anonymity are very important in the world of crypto, and is it true that it(grin) has become an official payment method on btk?...
Bro, what did you mean?
I guess you mean the forum, if it is what you meant, my answer is right.
There is link for what info you need.

Looks like the next wallet release will support windows. This should open Grin up to more widespread adoption.

Mining grin allmost from begining, firstly with all 3 my rigs, after slight drop changed RX rigs to eth/eth.
But nvidia rig still mines it for 3 months non stop. I believ in this coin.
I'm not really agree with you @tranthidung, you want that coin go to moon in just one year after creation.
At this time it's too much altcoins, and they not getting adoption, so i'm mining like investment, and no hope to moon in at least 2-3 years, maybe more. but i hope for someday Smiley

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
theres no way im gonna give a newbie all my grin to store in a WEBWALLET (hotwallet) are you crazy? haha
you will be gone 404 or hacked in 3 months or less

better off to store them on Trex @ that point, atleast a person might have a bit of liability if they get hacked lol

"mygrin.org"  i bet it would be "your grin" Cheesy

Farewell o_e_l_e_o
As a result of Grin coin falls over weeks, the topic has been cooled down a bit.
There are almost no posts, especially statements that Grin coin will break resistance, go to the Moon, blah blah.
The current boring situation of Grin coin topic reminds me that what occured with bitcoin and top altcoins just two months ago.
Will the situation last till the end of 2019, as theymos predicted that Grin coin price will fall over time, and it might be stable around one year after its beginning?
Do you have any ideas with the coming price trend of Grin coin?

We are glad to present Grin Web Wallet!
This is web-wallet for Grin coin from third party, right?
So, I will wait to get official one from Grin coin team.
The Grin coin has good potential if it will be able to survived next 8 months (it means around its one year old time point), so I don't want to take risks by using Webwallet from third party that has not been proved its security and reliability.

Tell you what, why don't you just give your Grin to me straight up. Then you won't have to bother with chosing between gone 404 or hacked in 3 months or less.  Grin

But seriously, I agree with you - would stay away from a webwallet like that.

I'm sorry again but maybe I'm missing something? I read your whole post there and went through some comments but I still don't get something.
You wrote that,
  • Single chip Cuckoo ASICs being meaningfully different from computation ones
  • The likelihood of single chip ASICs outperforming multi-chip ones for the next 2-8 years

And my question is: "What is bad with single chips? Why is there a conversation about changing the roadmap because of that?"

It's probably something obvious which I lack the technical knowledge to see, so sorry for the trouble! Lips sealed Cheesy

Please read all of https://www.grin-forum.org/t/scheduled-pow-upgrades-proposal
Single chips are not bad, but I thought that if you're happy with single chip ASICs you might as well use a more straightforward PoW like bitcoin's instead of a memory hard one.
With a memory hard PoW, forcing a memory IO bottleneck seemed more interesting.

Thanks for sharing info, looks like the news on voting for a hardfork has gone down well. It surprises me that this doesn't generally happen for major network upgrades with other coins tbh.

GRIN mining pools are Online at 2Miners.

PPLNS: https://grin.2miners.com/
SOLO: https://solo-grin.2miners.com/

2Miners supports both GRIN mining algorithms: Cuckaroo C29 and Cuckatoo C31. Our pool detects the algorithm you set in your miner automatically and provides the job required. Which algorithm to use is entirely up to you, and we are making sure the rewards are calculated accordingly based on the complexity of a particular algorithm.

Please have a look at the help page before you start: https://grin.2miners.com/en/help

I want to learn all this! Can someone give me links to threads, discussions and articles about single chip and multichip Asics and why single chip Asics are undesirable specifically in Grin?

Google is not much help.

@RivAngE. Thank you. The all time difficulty chart is good enough.
