Yeah, but I have three addresses there already. One I used to receive some coins I bought, one is the savings (HOdling) wallet and the third is where the "change" went when I did the transfer.

I'm assuming the change wallet was the original one, and that mined coins will go there, but just don't know.

Yeah. Seems like he's "moved on" to CNC routing. Sheesh, that's so 1980s. Not to worry, I know lots of geeks, just posted a msg to Facebook looking for someone with a spare PC.

Q: If I mine using the Windows wallet by clicking "Solo Mining On", what address is the coin sent to?

If you click the GUI button for Solo mining or use the setgenerate true -1 it will mine to that wallet it is using the CPU on unless you put some extra commands in to redirect mined blocks to another wallet

Naah, he wasn't interested. Kept going on about needing GPUs and ASICs and the cost of setting it up.

I just couldn't impress upon him that he only needed a fast CPU. Seems he already knows everything.

Don't worry it's his loss only, seems like your friend was being a Belligerent Fool Tongue

HA! I see what you did there Wink

I have a friend who is a total gamer nut and has a bunch of superfast PCs. I've asked whether he'd like to mine some coin for me. Which is the best processor in terms of running cost per coin?

running cost is minimal.. if the PC is already running your simply running the CPU at 100% that wattage bump should be hardly noticed.. I mean if he has a farm of 20 PC's then he may make you pay the cost to run them..

G'day!
Just tested the message signing capability of the wallet by "claiming" my entry on the rich list at TekyBoy.

Neat.

I have 67h/s on a 4 threads and 8Gb memory.HOdlcoin-qt.exe -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=4 just split my hashrate in two 32h/s with 2Gb miner memory on a windows server  Huh
is there something that i've missed?
how many virtual cores on the server?  is it just 4?
yup just 4
there is an explanation post a few pages back. let me see if I can find it.

You can multiply your hashrate to miningmemory, so your hashrate is actually 64h/s.

That's worse then the 67H/s he got from using just standard settings without doubling anything.

Yes it is.

As an overall average you should see a 10% increase.. this will vary with different systems..
running the miner in default config make me 1 block per day and I already tested with miningmemory concept and it's the same thing
personally i'll keep it in default and wait for a cpuminer

G'day!
Nice concept dev! My poor old T60 laptop only gets 2H/s so I bought 250 HOdl and stored them, maturing just before Xmas. The squirrel certainly is an appropriate mascot. Assuming a linear rise in value my AU$29.33 investment should be worth a little over AU$640 by then.

I be HOdling.

i still don't know if it is better for you to have one 1gb instance with your 67h/s. or have the configuration you posted with two 1gb instances running 32h/s each. can someone tell us which is the more sensible option when you only have 4 virtual cores?  or does it not make any difference?
(personally I would just run the miner on the defaults and wait)

The best thing to do is test what works best for your rig
