The interest mechanic in HODL shouldn't be labeled "Proof of..." because it isn't a proof method for securing the network at all. It is simply an interest payout after periods of time and in itself will not generate blocks.

I just don't understand where the interest comes from, the OP said there was no premine to be distributed right ? and its not proof of stake right ? And the POW block rewards go to the person who mined the block right ? so does it just come out of nowhere ?

Well the easiest way to look at it is they are generated by the blockchain when your address meets the proper rules.. Just like in Biatcoin they are generated when you mine a block or a PoS they are generated when you stake.. in HOdlcoin you generate when you move coins from one address to another based on how long it sat in the first address.. meaning 10 HODL sat in address Hxxxx for 100 blocks.. when you move them to address Hyyyy the blockchain generates the interest.. The reasone you see the interest in the wallet is bc we added the calculation that will happen when you move them.. we did this so ppl know how much they can move.. and so they can watch it grow with out having to move it every block..

Oh okay so its really a totally new method of generating coins, proof of time I guess you can say or something along those lines.  I was thinking about it wrong.  Thank you for the clarification.

Well we are calling it Proof of Hodled for the time being.. But yes this is a new way to go about things..

Hahah Proof of Time gave me flashbacks to many many hours of QC work I did on Crypti..

mining with multiple PC's. Is it correct to point the other wallet miners at the default receiving address of the wallet I want to use for the POW. I am using the instructions as per page 29 of the thread.
the CPU's are going on all the PCs. Is there a way I can see the POW details in the wallet consoles. or can I see the hashes somehow some other way? sorry to be such a solo mining noob.  i am too used to pools  Smiley

Collective mining Stats will not be available in the console.. You will need to wait on a pool for an easy to view hash total.. But yes pointing all of them at 1 address is the way to get all your block to show in a single wallet

My concern is what happens when all this HODL matures at the same time? I've been down a similar road once with Paycoin where all of us received our initial stake at once and the market was flooded like the Strait of Gibraltar.

Well everyones 1 year will term at a diffrent Blocks.. and when 1 year hits there will still be a bonus so locking up that new balance will be very nice!! but if you want to lock it up a 3rd time with a bonus you will not be able to lock the next one up for 1 year.. meaning this first one lock up for 1 year then the next one lock up for 10 months then when that last one opens you can still get a bonus..

Also if they dont want to lock them all up again they can just live of the interest they get each block.. bc Standard interest will have a bonus.. let's say they have 100k and lets say 5% interest (this will be more bc of the bonus) thats 5,000 HODL over 1 year or ~14 HODL per day

Thank you for your prompt response to my concern. I would just hate to see HODL in an unforgettable pitfall.

Is there a cut-off point for the early investor term deposit? I haven't deposited yet. thanks

The bonus drops every block for the next 2 years.. then terms will return to 10% APR

Also where does this interest come from, so if its paid every block shouldn't there be a massive amount of transactions going on to every address ? I know its not staking but where do the coins come from then ? Are they already premined and just being distributed ?

Whats the typical price of a hodl at the moment ? I might be looking to buy some but how do you know what they sell for ?
Seems the going rate is 20-25k sat each HODL in OTC markets.
I put out 5000 for sale in our OTC thread, and you can place your bids there.
There are all coins we have available for sale.

What a pitty, my laptop will not find a block, so i had to buy some. Locked most of them for a year, really curious how this will end up Smiley
Good work so far, Freetrade.

Lol, next time you decide to buy you know who to contact with. Smiley
If anyone wants to buy some, i would recommend buying from Shkembe, very good, fast and uncomplicated. Thumbs up for you, Shkembe.
Is Shkembe a name of an exchange?

LOL he is a man that can turn you from a Non-HOdler to a Young HOdler (*Note I have not bought from him personally)

Just getting home and seen this on the screen.

How much Ram do you have? And how much where you using to mine with.. Looks like you ran out of Ram

16Gb of ram and using the setgenerate command. Not using the ram parameter.

That is strange.. This is the first I have seen of this.. As far as I have seen we have no reported memory leaks..

I will keep an eye on it. Just restarted it this time with the mining button. using the latest wallet on Windows 7 64bit.

I use win7 64 Professional, 4GB ram, and no error happend. Could u set virtual memory?

Will try later. Off to work but when I woke up this morning the wallet had completely forced closed.
