same, but a single 750ti can do 13M and they cost 1/2 of 280x and much less energy required
Quote

That's good to know. I think I am gonna buy 750ti. Smiley what brand you have? Do you know how much you can get with the higher models 770, 780?
Quote

i don't have any at the moment, i just read the report of another guy

Just ordered this little cheap monster http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-3753-KR, I can't wait to see the results. Smiley I think I'm gonna put my Radeons on sale then. Smiley  I think soon Nvidia's will be out of stock everywhere soon. Smiley

while today 750ti are good, i think it is better to wait for the top maxwell for density

So what will be the top Maxwell Nvidia's? Is 750Ti the first pioneer card with Maxwell technology?  I am actually buying this to my home weak computer with 350W PSU which I normally used for paper work but I decided to squeeze some hashrate also from that piece of sh.t using AMD R7 260x which is giving me currently 5,75Mh/s Smiley It's small midi case so I wouldn't fit in it any longer monster card. Smiley

the top maxwell should be a beast based on current 750ti specs, we are speaking about series 8 i think

amd users...
have no fear...
i know reorder is working on a better optimised cgminer... he is working first on vardiff of 1gh.com
ccminer 0.5 is out... hashspeeds are much better than amd cards... 750ti reports 13Mh/s (that is better than a 280x)

@reorder: sounds like a challenge to optimize cgminer better...
don't let nvidia beat amd  Cheesy

greetings
It is underway, this is for non-oc 280x:
Code:
GPU 1:  68.0C 2848RPM | 14.54M/13.70Mh/s | R:0.1% HW:0 WU:0.0/m T:1 xI:105

However, I am still busy adjusting vardiff.

But my point is that HVC is made of up four different algorithms.  I believe there may be a slight issue with one of them but the other 3 are fast.

So I'd think they could mine other types of coins well too.

Keep in mind this is a brand new architecture that is only recently released and it takes a while to build up the software to work with them.
I'd imagine we'll be seeing more and more optimizations for CUDA based miners in the near future whereas the AMD software (sgminer, cgminer, etc) have been pretty stagnant.

Regardless of which camp you might happen to be, competition is good for everyone, so it's win/win for us consumers!

Well, I am not in any camp. I went for both of them from time to time.

I am just afraid that competition is good only for AMD and Nvidia since I think that profitable GPU mining comes to an end.

I dont think that Gforce cards actually have an advantage but cudaminer just got optimized properly. Gforces suck at keccak,Sha,blake and every other algo out there. So why should they suddenly be better at all these algos combined ?
My theory is that current kernel for AMD cards sucks and theres is actually 2-3x more power to be taken from AMD cards. That would explain why the mining profitability is so god dam low also - Someone has probably figured out how to get AMD cards running times faster than other people and they are making a nice buck with it  Tongue Huh

+10000000000. We will not re-invent the wheel ... AMD is superior than GForce on mining. Simple as that.
Now, if cuda is optimized in a better way for that one, fine. Fair enough also, I would say. It is time for the GForce owners to see some advantage from their cards.

Not sure how you can say that.  10+ MH at less than 60 watts of power for an introductory card that costs less than half as much as AMD card for the same MH rate at 3 or 4 times the needed power?

I'm sure that the software might be able to be refined more to get more out of AMD cards but it takes both hardware and software to mine and we can only work with what is available at present.

750 TI is half the cost of 280x
750 TI uses 1/3 to 1/4 the power of 280x
750 TI produces roughly the same MH rate of 280X

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that AMD just got owned by nVidia Smiley

I'm anxious to see what the new high end 800 series Maxwell cards will do. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 to 3 times improvement.

Also for the person who mentioned nVidia cards aren't good at different algorithms, keep in mind HVC uses 4 different ones so these seem to do well on the new Maxwell architecture at least on the surface.

Carlo

You dont need to be a rocket scientist to see that an 280x has 3x the compute power (3,9xxGflops vs 1,3xxGflops). So where is the logic in a 3x faster card only giving 75% the performance ? Amd's arhitecture is better suited for mining as well so this is clearly a software issue. I dont have anything against Nvidia and I am waiting for maxwell as well but the 750ti is a shitty pointless card for mining and there is no logic in it getting better performance than a way more powerful card.

In fact ,i give up .The difficult is too high now. Cry

The climbing of diff is far fast than the price increase.
Mining other new coins may be more profitable.

How long did you think money grabbing nvidia were going to let AMD cash in on this craze without getting their own slice of the pie ?

The new high end maxwells are going to dominate the market providing mining is still profitable when they're released

Exactly that (the bold part). I think that this ship has sailed already for Nvidia ...

your cheap monster is a 750 (no Ti), having just 80% of the Ti's compute power.

Damn you were quick. Smiley I pasted wrong link. I ordered this one: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-3753-KR. What hashrate can I squeeze from it, 13Mh?
