It would be a crazy idea. I don't see any reasons why it'd be the "best coin for online gaming". You can talk about how it could be maybe. The last update I see for that coin is 2 years ago, and its website is dead.


And how do you know this? Even if he were, at least he's doing something, and you're not. There are many of us here working hard to make it happen for HYPER! Stop hating, and start loving. 

An update for HyperGG is coming sometime this weekend! We've made lots of progress with game server plugins and more!

Don't get caught holding the Weiner bag.  lol

Crazy idea but wouldn't GameCoin be the best coin for online gaming?  lol....seriously!

Alright I got it up and running now thanks for the help! And just to clarify the supernode is integrated we don't need to make the .conf to add it?

Sorry it has been updated already with the 1.5.2.1 release with the supernode for faster syncing. Just download the top wallet here: https://github.com/palmd/Hyper/releases Yes if you are already on 1.5.1 (our last update) then you do not need to bootstrap! If you have already done the bootstrap you only had to do this once to be using the new HYPER db for faster syncing.

So what do we run from the download link to install the new wallet? I don't see an .exe or any executable file to run? Sorry if i'm missing something Oh and we don't need the bootstrap with the new wallet right?

We have added links to #hypercrypto irc in the About page of the new wallet above already There are future plans to have irc chat and twitter news feed fully integrated into the wallet we just need to make sure it is secure.

Before upgrading make sure to you have a backup of your wallet.dat from your %appdata% -> Hyper -> wallet.dat (copy and paste wallet.dat to desktop to make a backup. Keep it somewhere safe!

Upgrade instructions if you have the old 1.5.0 wallet:

Mandatory to do this for 1.5.1 Hyper client (rebuild db)

You have two options, either 1) do a full resync from scratch best but slow (can take 24 hours+) or 2)use a bootstrap fast (see below) Bootstrap ONLY works with Windows if you are building the wallet in Linux you will need to download the blockchain. No worries though it is much faster than before and should be fully synced within 24 hours!

Warning! Never! Ever! Delete wallet.dat ! Always have backups!

1)
A. Back up wallet.dat or entire directory: (default) always do this when updating!
     Win c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/Hyper/
     Unix : /home/user/.Hyper  
     You can find easily in windows by searching for %appdata% and then opening Hyper folder
B. Delete all files/folders in your /Hyper/ directory above EXCEPT wallet.dat and any .conf files. DO NOT DELETE WALLET.DAT!
B. When you are sure you backed up then delete everything above just run new client and wait for 24 hours to sync!

2)
A. Download Bootstrap

E. Run client and it should start syncing at the bootstrap block number, if you did something wrong it will start at block 0, so please try again or ask in forum!

Upgrade instructions if you have new 1.5.1 wallet:

1.) Backup your wallet.dat in the %appdata% Hyper folder above. Save a copy somewhere safe.

2.) Download the new wallet at: hhttps://github.com/palmd/Hyper/releases

3.) Open the new wallet. Use this as your HYPER wallet now and everything should work fine!

Here is my conf and I often have over 10 connections. Make sure to save as hyper.conf file in your Hyper folder in %appdata%

It should always sync no matter when you are syncing it.

You might want to also see if your antivirus is blocking it.

EDIT: you can also addnode=54.148.124.35 to add our new supernode to your conf for faster syncing.

Everyone should check out Famguyb's Garry's Mod server! It has been added to HyperGG! 

Give it a little time. It can get stuck. Try to close and re-open it. Sometimes, opening it another day works better. Did you follow the steps regarding the bootstrap?

I believe the chat feature is not particularly necessary because the HYPER community does have an IRC and also a TS3 server. As for the bulletin board info screen, I think that's a good idea! It would probably have to contain just links to forum posts/announcements. I think especially for the people who aren't on the BTC forums, HYPER forums, or twitter, it would be helpful to see all the info/updates at a quick glance, and when people want more info, they can click on a link.

I have a suggestion for a wallet feature. Actually this would be good for wallets of all coins. Build in a informational bulletin board screen to notify users that they need to update in case of hard fork or other technical problem. You can also make other announcements concerning games bounties etc. Maybe build in a chat feature that runs 24/7 so people can check in and see what is happening in the Hyper coin community.
