I don't know how possible it is to have 2 anti-virus applications running effectively in one's system and having same result, I have this sort of arrangement in my system but I kind of found out recently that the 2 anti-virus app carry out 2 different operations so I am having same thought pattern with polyswarm, it's looking like we would be having same concept with polyswarm also 
When you have a genuine, innovative anti-virus, i don't think there will be need for you to look for a second one, most times what we get is an incompetent product that does the periphery of what it ought to do but with the coming in of good products, which this project intends to do, such issues will be eradicated
Polyswarm will be like master key. With master key, you dont need multiple keys to open all locks. Similarly you dont need multiple antiviruses to remove threat/protect your system, Polyswarm will be enough.
Lol, you're right, that's the point of the project, innovation is the key to been successful, else, one will be left behind, Polyswarm is an avenue for programmers to be innovative and deliver cutting edge software/ products to satisfy the yearning needs of the community
Still complete one day remains to close ICO. They reached almost 24.82. Let's what we can after end ICO.
