Can't really say I am surprised, dates tend to shift with projects like this. If it has to be done then a few more weeks shouldn't hurt anyone really, it's a marathon not a sprint.

As planned, ICONOMI launched the initial version of the platform and ICONOMI.index Digital Asset Array™ (DAA) in the second half of December and shared it with alpha testers. Days later, we have received several suggestions and very constructive feedback from the alpha community. Faced with dilemma whether to launch a product that could be even better in a few weeks’ time, we have decided to implement their comments and suggestions before progressing to the beta phase. Our users deserve the best experience out of the box, from the first login.
That is why we are postponing the launch of the beta version and public release until early 2017. This was not an easy decision, but we firmly believe it is the right one.

My guess is that they do not post to much on the release to not be fragile for hacks and attacks. But thats my guess.

As much as I want the launch to happen on time on Dec 28, I personally don't mind if they take a couple more days to make sure everything is working properly.
It will still be before end of Q4 2016 as they promised.

Really? Well actually this makes perfect sense:
Iconomi is a perfectly orchestrated scam, where the creators used their reputation to lure you into investing some serious BTC. Its like always; Iconomi will post a statement and claim to got hacked over the Holidays. Of course they will do everything in their power to save the project; naturally, they´ll ask you for some fresh cash...
