This about dividends of ICN on Kraken

My question to Kraken:

As Iconomy will be paying dividends, will Kraken pay the dividends to the owners of ICN held on the Kraken exchange?
Or will Kraken keep these dividends?
kind regards,

The answer of Kraken:

We have not yet made a decision on exactly how we will implement the ICN dividends. When it gets closer to the time when ICN begins paying those dividends we will come out with clearer policy on exactly how this will be implemented.
Regards,

So we are still in the dark on this topic..........

Got same answer week ago , let's just wait Wink

Oh the pain of getting ICN out of kraken, max 27k a day. Will take a few weeks to move it out to a "real" wallet.

Eh it will not take weeks:
https://www.kraken.com/u/verify

Damn .. i didn't know there is a day withdrawal limit of 27 k .

I have a question.

I am trying to download Ethereum Wallet allready for 10 days. This is crazy.
Is this normal that it takes so long?

What are your expriences?

Which wallet do you recommend,  Ethereum Wallet or MyEtherWallet?

Do both wallets  support dividends?

In addiction to ICONOMI ICO account , all wallets should support receiving dividends as long as they give you control of the private keys  , Myetherwallet is the best If you don't want to download the whole blockchain , It's also easy to use and ICNs are implemented by default so there is no need to add a contract or anything.

This take a long time cause you need to download all past blockchain. Just relax ultil your wallet get sync Smiley
You can download Geth and copy it to your parent directory, then you open a command line and use this command: geth --rpc -fast

https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases

Hope it will help you

MyEtherWallet works with dividends and I've had no problems with it storing multiple Eth based tokens, buying into ICOs etc. No need to download the full blockchain like with Mist although I believe the lite client option was released (possibly beta).

1. Let's assume I wanted to transfer some ICN coins/tokens either from my wallet on the iconomi site, or from my wallet on Kraken to myetheriumwallet ...
Obviously the myetheriumwallet was designed to hold etherium coins. So now i am going to send ICN tokens to an address in this wallet- which was actually designed to hold etherium...
So how does the wallet "know" after the transfer has been done (and hopefully succeded) that the coins/units held in that partticular wallet address is in fact ICN and not etherium?

The ethereum address was not designed to hold ethereum coins only. it was designed for smart contracts and app tokens also. Your address will hold ETH balance and any ECR 2.0 type tokens linked to the address also. ICN is a token so it will be stored by the same address. Its up to you how you organise your holdings. You can have ETH stored by a different address than the one storing ICN ... you can split your holdings so that if some keys are stolen you don't loose it all. But you can keep all ETH related things linked to the same address.

I just want to add one thing about myether, or any other blockchain-based wallet (including Bitcoin wallets):
You and the wallet don't hold the token. The "money" ,so to say, is not in your wallet, but on the blockchain.
The network has agreed (consensus) upon which address (public key) holds how much of that cryptocurrency. For the Bitcoin blockchain it is bitcoins,
for ether blockchain these are ethereum and/or any other app tokens.
When you want to spend the money, or part of it, you prove ownership to the network by signing with your private key, which is encrypted by the password you must provide to the wallet interface.

Does anyone know if ICN dividends will be received directly into myetherwallet ? I keep my ICN in myetherwallet.

DD
Yes it does, Even If you want for leaving your coin in there, you will get a definite thing for receiving your dividend. But never hold your token in the exchange wallet. or you will never get a dividend for that. You can read more about it at ICONOMI whitepaper or watch his AMA yesterday.
This already clear with the team statement.

Let's assume I have created an etherium wallet using myetherwallet....
I'm guessing this works much the same as a bitcoin wallet in that my wallet is comprised of unique etherium wallet addresses.
I have a number of questions around this subject which I'm hoping some of you can answer in a way I can easily understand it.

2. Assuming that there is some built in mechanism with which the myetheriumwallet can distinguish whether an address contains etherium or ICN ...
what happens if i send say 1000 ICN to an address in the wallet and then after that i send 1000 etherium coins to that same wallet address?
What will the contents of that wallet address now contain/show?
(I'm assuming one should NEVER do this in practise - just asking in order to try to get a greater understanding of the wallets and the relation between etherium and ICN)
3. Assuming I now have successfully transferred 1000 ICN to an address in myetheriumwallet ... either from my wallet on iconomi site OR from my account on Kraken where i bought the ICN ...
3.1 How exactly does the "system" know about the existance of these 1000 ICN in order to send dividends in the form of etherium coins and how does the system know where to locate these 1000 ICN?
[i'm assuming its due to the etherium blockchain where all movements of ICN coins can be traced and the whereabouts (wallet addresses) of all ICN coins are known at all times.  But i have to ask to make sure my assumption is correct]
3.2 Assuming the iconomi "system" does in fact track down these 1000 ICN sitting in myetheriumwallet... how exactly will the etherium dividend be paid out to me?
3.3 Let's assume the dividend (for arguments sake) is 5 etherium coins for the 1000 ICN situated in a particular wallet address in myetheriumwallet...
We already know that one cannot mix ICN and etherium in the same wallet address, and so my question is where will the dividend of 5 etherium coins be sent to??

Thanking you guys in advance for clearing up this for me with your answers and input.

As petricag said, the myetherwallet addresses are showing you both Ethereum coins (ETH) and ICN Token.
And you also need some ETH to send ICN Tokens out of the myetherwallet again, because for each transaction there is a sending fee called gas (little ETH units).
So you should have some ETH in the same adress where your ICN are stored.
The dividends, that will be paid in ETH, will automaticly be send to the same Ethereum adress where your ICN were when the dividends have been earned. The ICONOMI smart contract can see where every ETH and every ICN lies on the Blockchain.

Good news!
This is a good news, will received dividens for holders icn. Its time to buy some ICN again.  Cheesy

I have not seen it is very good news, of course we also want to see ICN really added to other trading sites like poloniex

Poloniex will most likely add ICN once the ICNX & ICNP funds platform is released this December.
ICN won't be under 100k sat for much long...  Smiley
Once Devs announce official launch date, those sell walls will be bulldozed over in a jiffy... Someone is gonna lose his ICN so cheap.

I hope Poloniex do, the dividends distribution will be weekly I guess, I still have my ICN tokens on ICONOMI website, is there need for me to move my tokens to Ethereum wallet or I will be able to receive the it on their website also
You don't have to move, just keep it on the iconomi site and it will pay the dividends.

The address will contain 1000 ICN and 1000 ETH. Did you actually opened a MyEthereumWallet interface to have a look ?
ICN is a token defined by a contract address. Based on that the wallet is making a distinction beteween ETH and all other tokens.
I don't see why you would not do this in practice. Especially with myethereumwallet that can signe transaction offline, you can actually have the private keys never to see the light of internet so, safe. Personaly I like to see all my holdings in one interface. Do you have different online bank accounts for each currencies ? Its kind of the same.

3.1 when you open myethereumwallet, the code behind is basically designed to interogate the blockchain about everything that is linked to your ETH address. So it will display the ETH balance and the balance of all tokens defined in the interface by default (+ custom tokens added by yourself). Consider the eth blockchain a kind of a database that the wallet is interrogating.
3.2 If you consider ETH block-chain as a database that you can interrogate than its easy to split an amount of ETH as dividends to the holders. A web interface developed to give you a list of the holders of a specific contract can be seen here: https://etherscan.io/token/ICONOMI#balances    ... so you can fetch these information in  programmatic way. easy peasy

yeah I think so, but need to get a large volume, let us look at it right away and took the bag to hold the ICN when other people sell them at a low price

If you want to attract the fish going outside from his place. You will need a good bait.
ICN isn't getting the list into the major exchange like polo if they can attract the people was coming for taking some of them to their pouch.
