The same people in here still bashing the IPO and maidsafe in general? Funny, you would think that people who are not even involved/invested in this coin would find something better to do with their time and energy. You know, like how about instead of continuously trying to devalue others' investments you focus on your own fucking money. I'm just going to assume that either 1) you don't have any valuable assets of your own to be concerned about, or 2) you do have valuable assets of your own but you are terrible at time management and don't understand that all the investigations and time spent trying to derail this coin with long-winded useless posts could have been spent supporting/advancing your current investments and researching potential new investment opportunities, or 3) you are simply a troll and derive pleasure from fucking with other people.

There is actually a thread where they have a list of projects similar in nature to theirs...nothing quite as comprehensive is in the works (that is known, admittedly) and nothing on their timeline. Could happen though but I'm not seeing it.

Look...I like the project. I sent a modest amount. I would like to see that back but the thing that doesn't change is that I like the project. People invest for many different reasons and sometimes it's to see good people do good things. I didn't invest my life savings and if they stopped everything right now I would not suffer at all for losing it. But if it works, not only do I get to play with something really cool, I could see a decent ROI. Risk vs reward is in my favor here, in my opinion.

Have you considered the fact having money frozen for unknown duration is like losing money ?
There's definitely a large risk involved with investing in a company like maidsafe. But there's also the chance of a big reward if the SAFE network becomes a hit. It does appear from reading various development forums that they're closer to releasing a finished product than any of their competitors.

This is the biggest scam of all. 6 millons for what? For nothing, just one amateur video and a lot of promises.
People who weren't buying into the IPO to make a few bucks in the immediate days knew that the Safe Network wouldn't be ready for several months.
There is lots of activity not occurring on bitcointalk...and news articles. Take it with a grain of salt; I am not posting the links to change your mind...but there is more happening than just "For nothing, just one amateur video and a lot of promises."

When will we be able to swap maidsafecoin for safecoin?
I remember reading somewhere to expect at least 3 or 4 months before the SAFE network goes live and we'll be able to exchange for safecoin. However, given that they predicted the testnet would be up about 30 days after the start of the IPO, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

There's no guarantee that safecoin will even come to fruition, so I don't know how one can expect it's price to skyrocket. It's not like other cryptos that are already being mined and circulated. It's an idea that hasn't been tested in the field yet. Even the devs admit that they're not sure how many aspects of their system will work until they are able to have a test network up. If the idea is so popular, why do you think people who wanted to get into the IPO but couldn't, aren't rushing to buy MSAFE right now at a Deeply discounted price?
For the exact same reason people weren't rushing in buying Bitcoin after it crashed back to $2 after the rise to $30 - most don't understand the full implications of a system like this. They will, eventually.

For the same reason no one rushed to buy BTC at $450 they want to be sure that it's only going up!
