if bitcoin cash is at 270 $ right now ,i am sure one day litecoin with such strong community can hit 2000$ , we dont know when but it will for sure one day!
BCC is more than 270$ now. But I do not believe in LTC = 2000$ soon. But I think this year we will see price near 200-300$. LTC has a lot of good features. So, good luck LTC. I bought some of LTC tokens last days.

This year ? What would be the purpose of Litecoin now that Bitcoin adopted segwit? What would be its function?

LTC does not have to be better than BTC on all features. I think, in (near) future there will be situations where you want to use Bitcoins and some situations where you are opting for altcoins which offers features Bitcoin does not have. LTC could play here a strong role when it comes to transaction speed.
In addition, the lightning network will be a perfect vehicle for LTC.

Litecoin is an old project (so experienced by time), solid with good developers, and a very important daily transaction volume, so very interesting for big investors.
I think the potential of litecoin is great for the coming months!

Next big thing is Litecoin there are lot of things going on. After segwit atomic swap between Bitcoin and Litecoin on lightening network going to make it no.2 once again at market cap. May be some people see it as funny now but wait and see this happening in front of your eyes that how it get large share of market in near future.
litecoin should be next years at 600$ for sure, so i keep my litecoin for long terms project!
