Is there room for more then one crypto-currency in the online world?

For instance; I have a web-hosting operation. What if I decide to accept 20 payments a week in Litecoin where I would pay users the current USD-LTC times two. At this moment the LTC/USD is 0.00514, so I would offer 0.01028. Of course it would dip into my own profits but it would encourage users to get more involved in Litecoin. If enough Litecoin supporting merchants would join me in such a system we could give Litecoin more value then it has now, right? Could this lead to greater adoption? And if so would this hurt bitcoin in any way?

Litecoinpool pays for stale shares. If someone finds a block and after this you submit your share, calculated from the old 'job', it's considered stale and is wasted.
However, that is normal and you still get paid for it.

And those two cards you have there. Can pull 800KH/s.

Tweaked a bit and at intensity 18 and 5770@1100 mem got 750 kh/s with 1-3% stale

Thanks for info Litecoin!

Bitcoin today is what the internet was in 1998.
So I started Reaper and it said that reaper.conf was missing, even though it was in the same folder as reaper.exe? (Yes, it is reaper.conf, not reaper.conf.txt.)

Delete your old folder and download it again. You only have configure your config file to get it working.

Thanks, that got it working again for the first two runs, but then it had the same error (reaper.conf not found). I even replaced reaper.conf with the original version and it still said that.

These settings should pull 475KH/s
worksize 256
aggression 19
threads_per_gpu 2
sharethreads 2
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 6144

Such high intensity give me a lot of stales/invalids - ~8%

At factory clocks (6870 and 6950) and intensity 16 I got ~575kH/s and ~1% stale.

LTC mining is very profitable again.
HD 6950 will mine +400LTC/day which gives us 0.50BTC/day.
Thats very good.

I like LTC very much but when ASIC comes and all GPU miners go to LTC the depth is simply not there to sustain the price up like with SR and BTC.

So LTC will never be BTC alternative for GPU miners Cry

NMC is quite similar I think ... the money is in BTC right now.

Yeah that can change pretty quickly buddy.

Dont get too excided, there is much more than x10 possible cpu miners on planet, and performance diff is less than x10,so is not so drammatic)

That is an interesting point I had not considered until now. GPU miners switching to Litecoin mining would drive CPU miners out for the most part, like what happened to Bitcoin.

I guess it happens because of my mining setup and a lot of connections to litecoin network.

Not because of alot of connection.. my serv can easy have 50 - 80 connections...

Of course trolling occasionally is fine for entertainment value, I just think LoWang is a bit confused right now.  Tongue

And I think you guys have no idea what to answer me so you rather laugh then worry about your lack of understanding Cheesy

The blockchain is NOT in these log.* files. It is in blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat. Why the heck would it be 33GB for me and 150MB for the other people? It is the same for everyone of course.
So I exited the client, deleted all the log.* and after relaunching it took about 5minutes to synchronize with a network, created just one new log file and then it worked normally again.
Unfortunatelly there seems to be a bug which causes these files to be created often (I have 17 of them just today - each has 100MB), so it seems I will have to periodically close the wallet and delete it Undecided
I guess it happens because of my mining setup and a lot of connections to litecoin network.

IMHO if he attacks LTC then somebody should DDOS the crap out of Eligius pool ...
Don't go there. Really.

I really do hope that the idiot Luke-JR does not attack Litecoin because ATM is really is the only alternative to BTC Cry
why should he do that?
and how?

He killed CLC altchain and hates all crypto except BTC.

He says he intents to use the DDOS vulnerability in BTC on LTC chain !

i dont think he can lay litecoin down..

well, if someone else have a botnet or like that, they just attack him then..

Where are you bigcpuminer ( 10 000 PC botnet owner ) Huh
botnet is not the problem, more to get his info if it is... bit still i dont think it happens..

IMHO if he attacks LTC then somebody should DDOS the crap out of Eligius pool ...

I understood when he attack the CLC scam but LTC is actually good chain. Not like SC or IXC or IOC crap ...
well, if you ask me, everybody should stop there crap DDOS'ing... '

But so far, i think the LTC chain will be untouch'd
