LoyaltyCoin was at the World Blockchain Summit in Dubai and had the opportunity to pitch in front of the attendees.
It was the also the opportunity to make many contacts that may end up with several collaborations as well as funding opportunities.
We are looking forward to expanding our business to middle east businesses.

We had +50% new users last week than the week before.
There is more and more traction as we are deploying new releases of the mobile application. Indeed, we are working hard to make the user experience better and better.

We went today to a meetup in Zürich where more than 100 people were attending to exchange about bitcoin and blockchains.

Again many demonstration and lots of positive feedback.

We have now about 150 users using our application, collecting points, using points, exchanging points on our blockchain.

Each time I present the application to new people, especially when I present to someone who knows the crypto world, one often ask me if we are going to ICO our coin.

We are indeed planning to sell our coins to the crowd. However, given the latest ICOs and because the regulator in Switzerland is more and more nervous about that, we decided to go first to the regulator (FINMA) in order to fully comply with the local rules.

Why Bitshares and not Ethereum ?

Valid question. Thanks

As we had to choose the technology we had the following options:
Counterparty
NXT
Bitshares
Ethereum
Hyperledger
(among others)

Ethereum went quickly out of our shortlist because it's way over engineered with respect to our requirements (mainly the exchange functionality)
The maturity of the technology as well as the technical performances of Bitshares were the main arguments to choose it.

Friday evening, we'll be attending the meetup in Geneva and will inform you further with that respect as well.

As I was doing some demonstrations on our system in the Geneva Meetup, I had an interesting question:
"Why haven't you use the Bitshares ledger directly?".

Our answer:
We actually chose to fork Bitshares/Graphene technology because we first wanted to be able to control the transaction fees.
Eventually, as we wanted to be as independent as possible from the choosen technology, we created a layer, which bridges Graphene with our own tailor-made API developed for retailers.
This will give us the opportunity to change/adapt the blockchain with respect to Retailer's needs.

I'm happy to answer any of your questions.
Cheers.

On Tuesday evening, we went to the Crypto Valley Association meetup in Zug, Switzerland, where two projects were presenting: Arkilio and Dether.
That was for us the opportunity to introduce our project to various fintech/crypto fans.
We had very good feedback especially when we said that we are live, which is not the case for many projects.

Friday evening, we'll be attending the meetup in Geneva and will inform you further with that respect as well.

The question is this. How much will your application load the smartphone system? She's going to be resident there. And how to be sure that through your application the virus will not be introduced? Just being careful has not hurt anyone yet.

Thanks for your reply. These are indeed valid questions.
We have been focusing mainly on iPhone application, and the Androïd application is deriving from the iPhone.
Then, considering the validation process of Apps by Apple, you should consider that you're safe downloading any application from the Apple store.
For the Androïd version, the validation process is much lighter, but I don't see any reason for us to spend so much time in developing a blockchain solution, mobile applications, creating a relationship with 2 retailers, to finally spread a virus with our application.

That being said, the Apple application is approx. 60Mb. This size comes mainly because of the Xamarin framework. As we use only standard components of Xamarin, I do not see, and did not notice, any overload created by the app on the phone.

Being careful doesn't hurt indeed.

We have launched our blockchain based loyalty program in 4 shops in Zurich, Switzerland 3 weeks ago. The launch of LoyaltyCoin has been very successful!

Technology-wise, the blockchain and the mobile app have proven very stable.

For our partners, the program already demonstrates positive impact on their business. One example:  On the very first day after go live, a client came to a shop, bought enough to receive a voucher, and decided to buy other items to use the voucher. This increased the sale volume by 25% with respect to the initial budget of the client. For LoyaltyCoin, it is a big satisfaction that our system brings value to our retail partners

The number of app users is growing . We are working on a new version of the mobile application to offer an even better experience.

We have chosen a careful approach: We did not want to push too much at the beginning in order to identify all the possible unexpected behavior during the live testing of our system. This has paid off: We have been starting our without major issue. As nothing is blocking us, we are now pushing more and more the usage of the LoyaltyCoin program in our partner shops.

LoyaltyCoin is now live since the beginning of this week in 4 shops in Zürich, with 2 brands.

Dune London (shoes store) :
Limmatquai, Schifflände 24, 8001 Zürich
Rennweg 57, 8001 Zürich

Phase Eight (women fashion store) :
Seidengasse 18, 8001 Zürich
Limmatquai 38, 8001 Zürich

In each of these stores, you can collect points when you buy (1 point for 1CHF spent) and when you reach 500 points, you receive a voucher (20CHF for Dune, 30CHF for Phase Eight) that you can spend in one of the participating store.

You can also exchange your points from one brand to another on a blockchain, using our mobile application.

The next days will be busy for the stores, and we expect many new clients.

Having a real brick and mortar shop use your coin is a huge step forward. Looking forward to seeing more businesses using your coin as loyalty program rewards.

Thanks for your comment. It's indeed a great milestone for us.

Still can't learn much about this project, since there is still not much info available.
Please provide more info.
Thank you.

Indeed, we are currently very busy launching our product. Communication will follow, with stats, white paper and videos.

We are waiting for the Swiss banks to switch to bitcoins. A gold reserve in bitcoins - it would be very cool. A Swiss watch, and Swiss cheese?

It is interesting concept even there have been few attempts to provide some solutions for loyalty market but didn't see any result. I can hope this team will really present workable and realistic approach and solution once for all. I will be watching closely for further developments.

Thanks for your positive feedback.
We are actually going live very soon and it will be working for real.

A very interesting aspect of this project is that we'll provide a way for the mainstream to deal with blockchain, without even noticing that they are using a blockchain.

Many news will come soon, when we install the points of sales, we'll try to release videos of user experience as soon as possible.
