I would really see this succeed because it is awesome, but some simple answers as yes or no to simple questions would be nice and not beat around the bush. I use a VPN myself but a decentralised one and earning some myst if you are running a node yourself is great.

it depends how this VPN ban is implemented...right now, the firewall is simply a blacklist of IP addresses

heres how things are now.
https://fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/rngs/CHINA-CONGRESS-CENSORSHIP/010051BJ2Z6/CHINA-CENSORSHIP.jpg

The Chinese gov would have to blacklist the IP of every out-of-country Mysterium node, to effectively ban the service, and IPs change constantly, depending on what nodes are where...depends how many users we get. i guess we'll see.

i read it as, yes....what are you smoking, get out of here.

would also like to point out...if this net neutrality decimation passes...Mysterium is THE workaround...all users would have access to international ISPs through this...hope network speed is fast!

1) Will Mysterium be usable in China considering all VPN will be banned next year?
When it comes to usage of Mysterium service (VPN at first), our recommendation is to follow the local law. Technically, the service will be available around the globe.

Found this here: https://medium.com/mysterium-network/you-asked-we-answered-pt-2-ee55344c2d3c

I read this as a big no.

GET IN - Smart Ticket Protocol - Live in market!
Iam hodling some MYST but i think substratum has the upperhand. I read that Mysterium wants to comply with the legal rules of countries, bummer....... Say goodby to decentralized VPN for the Chinese.

Where did you read that?

Now, at least, they hired more developers, so the progress should be much faster as of now.
As long as I know, the first "prototype" launch should be in January. I'm quite sure that the market will reflect it once there is some working, even prototype, product up and running.

Yeah new developers should make it faster.
Let's see how those new guys affect.

Im my opinion is that the Project is from the technical view not easy to handle. Lets see what results the developer can present us next years.

A difficult Project with potential

substratum is not a competitor. substratum is siacoin, but for browser-based web surfing/hosting, instead of file-based hosting...they need to disrupt AWS to be successful....thats all im going to waste my time saying.

frustrating to not see this price move. Thanks to the growth of the Ethereum price the total Mysterium ICO-fund grew by 50%. Still the price did not move upwards at all in the last 2 weeks.

Frustrating and weird.

Also imagine a 1984 where American's can't access VPN providers...Mysterium could be that loophole, through Canadian's WiFI Cheesy

Yes, this would certainly be the catalizing factor that would send Mysterium to the moon. But if it will happen or not is... a Mystery.
Let's hope the devs are working and just just partying full time - the project sounds quite interesting.

This is a multi-year project and investment...like Ripple...Ethereum...Bitcoin...IOTA...like most projects with legitimate potential.

If there were weekly updates, you're expecting 100+ updates that really are all geared towards basically code development..which you can see on GitHub already without an official update.  More devs is really all we need to know until product beta launch. Even after launch, the only update Im expecting is either more devs or security audits...for another year at least. The only update anyone here seems to need is a price increase...takestimeman.

Despite the FUD about MitM attacks, nefarious nodes, this is a project with relatively painless massive adoption potential. A VPN protocol that any person can use and any developer can implement? Count me in.  Mysterium is a protocol, not just an app. That is my main interest.

Anyway, Robertas was walking with some bravado at DevCon like he's Mark Zuckerberg or something.  The team believes in this project more than the market right now. I'm into it. Also imagine a 1984 where American's can't access VPN providers...Mysterium could be that loophole, through Canadian's WiFI Cheesy

Maybe they will also start communicating with public more, if they want to do another token sale Cheesy
Anyways, I'm curious to see if they made some new partnerships at the Devcon3 conference... it was a great chance to make new contacts and start new collaborations.

Don't they give out a weekly newsletter that they send to the community via email or through their website? A weekly update regarding new developments should not be too hard to make.

I'm going to look at Mysterium again to see if it's alive. As a later investor, I have a high cost and lose half of my money. There's no reason to sell it now, hopefully it's already at the bottom, just waiting for milestones to happen, and then launch! Investors holding coins had to wait for the test version of the 1 quarter of 2018. Angry Angry Angry

If you buyed this token at the ICO or for a price higher than the current price, there is no reason to sell it right now. In $ terms, myst are already at the bottom. The marketcap and supply is pretty low and there is still a daily volume of more then 300k.
Just wait for the beta launch (Q1 2018)

Yeah got them from the ICO and waiting that launch. Hope it'll be worth it.
