While the above is maybe of great interest to yourself GREEDYJOHN it in no way negates the fact that serious professionals running exchanges on Linux continue to have problems. The large font bold cr*p also just makes this thread look like a kindergarten. Well done.

Since it was totally ignored by SUM2Dev earlier I guess I'll just have to repeat. NAV is worthless until you get the exchanges back on side. NO serious investor is going to be interested, understand?

SUM2dev has given a reasonable response, just before you made your last comment. PLEASE STAY POSITIVE.

I just opened my wallet after leaving it closed for one week and it synced perfectly within 30 minutes - it currently has 309827 blocks with 9 active connections.

Hi phreakk
Please let us know - what system You're using on Your computer?
And was that the error like boro1345 had? (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8437210)
If that was the same problem, then it is something that happens with other coin's wallets as well.
Best Regards! Wink

Thanks for the responses, this is exactly the error that occurs!!
I guess I'll just keep a backup and update it weekly or something!
Glad to see it's not a Navajo issue!

*I have it on Windows btw, would Linux be a better choice? I have linux systems, but my set up is easier with Windows atm.

I'm glad that the issue has been explained. Like You wrote this isn't Navajo Coin issue, that's happening with any other coin as well sometimes.
juguelio posted the right way how to fix it (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8642534).
About the systems - it depends only on You. Currently the better option for NAV holders is windows, since linux client have some problems with syncing, which we are working on fixing asap by the way Smiley
Best Regards!

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this issue:

EVERYTIME the system that is running the Navajo wallet CRASHES(power outages, freezes), I have to re-download the WHOLE blockchain.

I get some error(didn't write it down) and then another unhandled exception error, and then wallet closes.

I tried -rescan and it does the same thing.

Do I need to back up the blockchain often or what?

I had had that problem before. Easy fix.
search for  %appdata% and look for the summer coin folder, backup the wallet and the config file. Delete that folder, re install the wallet. Open the wallet. Then close it and go to the %appdata% and in the summer coin folder put back the config and the wallet.dat. Re open...wait for the block chain to load and that's it...
Hope it works.

Everything here looks nice, big plans from dev, good communication lately, but does dev have any ideas how to bring some investors attention to this coin? Last time even big news didn't rise volume and price much.

i think most of them will wait till all beta is finished and when wallet with anon transactions and messaging goes live.

we have to get to cryptsy and mint...this will bring attention
ESPECIALLY CRYPTSY!
