Hey guys, quick question - which version of Raspberry PI is the staking unit being designed for? Or I guess, which RBPI versions will be able to run the full node wallet?  Thanks!

Hello,

actually I have setup the system on a RPI3 together with a "fast" 60mbit 16GB SD card. We have had first tests and there need to be made some changes. My Testpi is staking actually!

I hate to ask a NOOB question. But, I am not totally clear on what is happening here. I believe some sort of re-launch on Nov 1 ?

From there site: "The Nav Coin Foundation announced today on their forum that they would release their new anonymous send system on November 1st."

BUT, how big is this news ? Or better yet, how much if any is it expected to change the trading price ? I know no one has a crystal ball, so I am just looking for opinions.

TIA,
Ed, aka-mcptrman

NAV has remained largely unaffected by the BTC price rises, all because of anticipation of NOV 1  Cheesy
NAV was one of the few coins that didn't get a big hit due to BTC rise and is now 15 % up. Maybe that answers your question ?  Wink

If you search back here you will see a post of Pakage explaining what will be released on nov 1. I think he posted this during this weekend.

I downloaded the wallet and followed the guide.  The wallet has synced and a deposited a 999 Nav into the wallet.  Does the wallet automatically stake the coins for me or do I have to do something else?  This is the first time I have tried to do this.  Also, do I have to wait for the network relaunch before it will stake?

If you followed all the steps it should start staking. Make sure to unlock your wallet (for staking only). The network relaunch is for the anon system and not needed for staking now. If you have any problems let me know!

Thanks.  I fiddled with sending NAV back and forth and everything looks good.  My network weight is low so it will take some time to see some rewards.

Will NAV compete with Monero and ZCash?
well apparently this isn't the nav thread anymore. so here we go...
I think there is enough room for all coins to coexist currently, each one tackles a separate problem. XMR is a standard and trusted coin, if you were going to compare a coin to this it would be SDC. SDC is working on a market place and i do believe both use ring signatures. ZEC is brand new, untested and unknown to the general public so it is quite difficult to compare this to anything currently. NAV is trusted and proven, did you know that the anon network was already proven and thoroughly tested? It's only being re-released in a new language(correct me if i'm wrong here). There has been a bounty to crack the NAV anon for years. But with this recoding of the anon structure it makes it faster and easier to make all of this code decentralized, which will be just around the corner after anon relaunch. So will nav compete with other coins? Of course, but there is currently room for everyone, and everyone should make there own informed decisions.
