It looks like an extra complication of a very complicated process anyway

If we try to replace paypal, let's replace it with something easier, not something painfully complicated and complex

Is PayPal Decentralized - No

Crypto currency has a different purpose and different niche
. Away from traditional fiat . It's the Blockchain .
When you understand the Blockchain you will realize what NAV is . BUT NAV is different as well . It has a Subchain .

Layers of Privitation code and processes that fundamentally detach the sender and receiver. PayPal knows you the sender and also knows the receipent in many ways.

NAV is there to further detach the known sender and the known receipent

Instead of going to an ATM we go to an exchange .

To cut a long over 1000 pages story short

It's about Privacy away from Centralised World Banks to a Decentralized network on Home Pc's around the world.

Most of the international markets are people who are not close to each other.

If I want to pay someone who is next to me, I simply give him some $ cash, rather than force him
to install another app, force him to complete a registration process, read QR codes, and so on...

Not to mention how many days or weeks it takes to exchange the NAV through the few exchanges websites which are in fact not user friendly at all

The focus should be to make it simple to send money to people from another countries.

I am not impressed at all, to say the least

Then why are you even in crypto? Why are you on this forum? I don't understand why this was posted in NAV forum? This is a higher level discussion and has nothing to do with NAV. Please stop spamming

And for information NavCoin is only 2-3% of inflation: 5% of the staking coins (40%)
5% is 4% + 1% for the community fund which will increase the marketing power as much as the Market Cap increase.

To be honest, after all NAV is just one of the over 2000s cryptocoins spinoffs variants of Bitcoin.

The fact that it has built in inflation +5,00 %, so the total supply of NAV is growing every year, is a huge red flag and a turnoff for most investors

there are many clear reasons why this coin doesn't moon

On the subject of YouTube mentions about NAV

One of the top 10 privacy coins for 2018.

Interestingly all of the other top 10 coins he mentions are ALL over 1 Billion USD market cap - NAV hovers around 200 million with plenty of room to grow.

Not a single reply about my idea... What do you people think about such an option? Do you think it could/should be implemented on NAV?

great ideas for sure.

I'm sure the devs have made a note and if those ideas align with current roadmap/development you might see some of those implemented.

I wouldn't take a non-response personally. So much happening right now to keep devs busy.

Thanks for your reply. I was not taking the non-response personally, I know the devs are very busy.

I just wanted to make sure people have seen it, and was curious about the feedback, if people like the idea.

Very true.  Hopefully one of the things they are currently working on is the non-operation of POS.

Hi all,

I'm new to Bitcointalk, but I'm watching the NAV thread for a long time as I bought some NAVcoins sometime ago and I love this coin.

I have a suggestion about a very nice feature that I think would be extremely useful for NAV Coin, and I don't know how to suggest it to the developers, so I decided to write it here and see what the community thinks about it.

I think NAV Coin should have a "Leasing" feature, like the one currently used in the WAVES platform.

For those who don't know how the "Leasing" works in WAVES, it's very simple. You can lease your coins from your wallet to somebody else who runs a node and generates rewards, and the rewards generated from your leased coins will be split between the one running the node and the coins owner. This way, people who lease their Waves earn rewards for their leased coins and those running the nodes earn a little extra from the leased coins. The leased coins are 100% safe because they always belong to their owner and cannot be spent by the one running the node. Everything is automated and you can earn rewards from your waves very easy without running a node. It is a very good solution for those who can't run nodes/stalk coins.

Now, in the case of NAV Coin, I would see the Leasing working in the following way:

Wallet X leases 1200 NAV to wallet Y.
Wallet Y stalks the leased NAV.
In one month of stalking, the 1200 NAV generate 5 NAV (5% per year for 1200 coins during one month)
The 5 NAV are distributed as follows:
1 NAV community fund
1 NAV Wallet Y (for stalking)
3 NAV Wallet X (the coins owner)

In the above example, the stalking rewards are 1% for the community fund, 1% for the stalker and 3% for the coin owner. This means that from the 4% stalking rewards that don't go to the community fund, the stalker keeps 25% and the owner gets 75%.

BENEFITS:
- This way, people who don't have the time, tech expertise or enough NAV to be worth stalking can also earn interest on their NAV, but at a lower rate (3%)
- People who already stalk their NAV can get additional rewards by also stalking leased NAV from other people. They'll get 1% of all the NAV they stalk for others.
- The community fund gets more NAV since more NAV will be stalked. A lot of the NAV that are currently not being stalked might be leased and generate rewards.
- People could earn 3% even if they use a light wallet or a mobile wallet, by simply leasing their coins to those who are experienced in stalking
- Leasing your coins and earning interest on them encourages people to HODL their coins for the long term, as they will regularly receive interest in their wallet from their leased coins and will love it

As the situation stands right now, if you have NAV coins worth only 1000$ for example it is not worth it the effort to stalk your coins, as the reward will be only $40 in a year. But it would be very nice to be able to lease your coins without any risk and effort and still earn $30 in a year, while the one already doing the stalking to earn $10 extra, and the community fund an additional $10 as well.

It would be a WIN-WIN-WIN situation for Small Coin Owners, Stalkers and the Community.

What do you guys think about this?

Whith Navpay spread, White paper coming soon, the marketing plan soon announced by the new marketing team, polymorph Q1 2018 and then Navtech 2.0, 2018 will be the year of Navcoin. Such a great Dev team, great products and news incoming and geat tech, Navcoin stayed below the radar and really really undervalued (more than 10 or 15x regarding the market cap and more after the news and launch flow in 2018).

To understand what is Navcoin, and it will target the Top 20 Crytocurrencies market cap in 2018 (have a look, compare and make your idea by yourself) :

To start, NAV isn't just a "privacy" focused coin. In Q1 2018, it will become a "privacy" focused platform/ecosystem. That makes NAV markedly different than Verge and Monero, aka huge growth potential over the next few months Smiley. NAV is also POS whereas Monero is POW. I believe POS is the future of blockchain. No surprise that Ethereum is looking to migrate to POS as well in 2018. There are many more attributes that make NAV more versatile than Monero. That said, I like Monero as well. Here's a few highlights that explain NAV more for you:

NavChain (the teams working title for the anonymous dapps platform)

As I mentioned above will be a privacy focused platform/ecosystem (I hate linking us to another project, but think anonymity of ethereum/neo). Once NavChain (Adapps) is built (the whitepaper is set to release in early Q1), the first planned anonymous application will be NavTech2.0.

Bonus: The devs are developing a working prototype of NavChain as we speak (including a working protoype of NavTech2.0). This will lead to faster development of the actual product.

Read more from the AMA: https://navtechservers.com/ama30102017/

NavTech2.0

Because NAV is a POS coin, NavTech2.0 will make every individual staking wallet have the option to act as a private server, which will create a fully decentralized mesh network of private payment servers. This is truly revolutionary in that it will create a trustless network. It solves the current concerns regarding trusting a small set of servers for private payments.

For more information https://navcoin.org/news/a-guide-to-navtech/

Community Fund

Nav recently passed a community fund which will reduce the staking rewards from 5% to 4%. The purpose is to use the 1% staking rewards to finish roadmap projects; hire more devs/marketers; market product launches; and finish community projects. "This equates to about $1M USD per year (at the current price) to spend on community projects, the core teams development roadmap and marketing initiatives – which will be a huge boost to the project."

Polymorph:

Polymorph is a web service designed to allow users to anonymise any of the currencies which are exchangeable on Changelly. How it works is best summarised by this slide from our 2016 Nav Coin Conference:

https://i.imgur.com/UpNL6uA.jpg

The user chooses their input currency & amount, output currency & destination address. Polymorph will exchange whatever currency is input to NAV with Changelly, send it through our dual blockchain private payment platform NavTech, then exchange it back to the specified output currency and send it to its destination.

You can specify the same input and output currencies, or you could actually use it as an exchange service also, inputting BTC and outputting ETH for example.

Well, That's Crypto :-\
A Ground breaking feature is Released by Navcoin and large investors of NAV dump on the coin . What message does this send to the crypto community ? . Think about it. The dump was completely unnecessary. At least there done .

The most undervalued crypto currency on the Market

dumpers are not large investors, puny weak hands is all. Large investors understand marketcap.

@Dev
Just launched a NAV Pi staking wallet. Went with a generic Pi because the NAV Pi's sell out so fast.

Pi wallet is staking like a champ and so easy to monitor.

Great work.

Hey, what is the max supply of this coin?
Current supply is 62,253,388 (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/) + 5% (but will become 4% staking and .25 NAV per block to the community fund) per year maximum.  The maximum level of staking is not normally reached as not all coins are participating in staking all the time.  The maximum supply could be considered infinite but would be a misrepresentation as it would also take an infinite amount of time to reach that supply level.  It does not seem to be an issue at this point in time.
