I am going to invest in Ethereum instead.

have you read this carefully https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4794844
I dont see many advantages in investing into Ethereum right now.
But you may work in Goldman Sachs and are in charge for successful rollout of Ethereum Smiley so you see it from the other side Smiley

Vitalik is definitely genius and other developers are also excellent but it does not force me to invest right from February 1st. I just dont like the way where it is going.

Hey could you guys stop all the crazy talks about restricting accounts? Yes this is my second account. I invested a few days ago with my regular account because I like the idea but when I read the development note today now i know these guys are serious. But still, no codes yet, just promises, vaporwares etc. It is not like you are going to launch the blochchain tomorrow. I could throw in 1BTC for the idea but I won't have time sting in front of the computer all day. It is such a hassle to make new account, type in the CAPTCHA and wait the frigging 10 minutes to start posting. Really, no time to go though all these hassles zillion times; so why don't you guy start to accept investment as any proper business ?   I am going to invest in Ethereum instead.

Interested. Blochchain info https://blockchain.info/tx-index/ff6b5750f92319bfffd88cfc8e52df4f9c9a4fe7161b3fbd2e94dd41be61709f. Hash ff6b5750f92319bfffd88cfc8e52df4f9c9a4fe7161b3fbd2e94dd41be61709f

On front page you say 160 and here it's 250, so what now?
Sorry, found it.
I just sent 185 NXT (25 were for Donation), but whats the NXT Transaction hash? I just know how to sign a Token, should I do that?

Too stupid me! Cheesy

185 NXT ID: 10073378770809430695
100 NXT ID: 10398856728354654807
So in sum 285. Change is Donation for Dev

- You have to be actively logged in to each new account for 4+ hours before you can post in the NEM thread.  This means 4x40 = 160 hours of login time
- send .4 btc-1 btc OR promote NEM in 40 different places

- I highly doubt anyone will create the 180 accounts necessary to gain a 4.5% share of NEM[/b]

Good idea, I agree
Maybe we should ask/PM/ the developer to implement these thresholds on this thread or move this discussion to new thread where utopianfuture could make such restrictions.
If we have our best intensions with NEM - New Economy Movement (and if we care about our investition and future of the coin).

We should care about fairness which was mentioned in the announcement in the beginning or at least about relatively fair threshold for everyone.
Maybe not best example but at least something:
Eg. imagine millions of very clever students that are graduating computerscience and other universities in China and India every year or lets imagine all clever people all over the world who also might like to take part in this project and would like to get some coins but due to restrictions they cannot sit behind screen 24/7 (as some of us can) and when they finnaly get to bitcointalk.org they realised that somebody already bought all shares during last night.

I do not know what other members think but maybe if it happens that some 1000 (or some significant amount such as 500) of new invetsors appear overnight or during lunch break we should slow it down somehow, eg for next 24 hours only 5 new investors would be allowed to participate during every hour

But I do not know how to deal properly with a difference between group of early adopters and newcomers - whom would be changed conditions for their investment with such a change - cannot later certain newcomers/investors/people be upset because it was changed rules during "IPO" , because requirements which were already announced were repeatedly changed?
But on the other hand, have not been already changed requirements several times?  (I do not know, I am not following thread from the beginning, I only read posts backward and from the reading of posts I have feeling that utopianfuture adjusted the fees already so that it is rising)

My coment was nothing against you or someone with a few posts. I might wrote it not precisely,
In the past newcomers could join discussion threads after they wrote some amount of posts in newbie section and also frequency of posting was restricted (but of course I never thought it could work well against spamming so I enjoy new rules)
That rule was exactly why I didn't have an account until now. Whenever I had something I wanted to post, I couldn't justify signing up to then proceed to spam a bunch of random threads in the newbie section to then get the ability to post in the thread I wanted. I'm fully aware I now look like a sock puppet account by waiting this long to sign up, but that policy has been a major deterrent.

Only about a gorillion puppet accounts. Seems fair enough.

So true. They cry about NXT, and here seems that someone is going to get >50% coins with puppet accounts. Sounds legit...

we should try to pprevent this somehow - unfortunately I noticed now bitcointalk enables everyone to post anything right from the beginning. But if we close the thread somehow for people who has less than X (eg 30) posts at first, some people could be unhappy and at second in long term it will not help much.
we should make an obligation to fullfill something funny, like make a viral video on youtube about coin etc.

Why don't you lead the way and do a funny video I mean you shouldn't be exempt just because you already happen to be the user of a forum. Which is ultimately what you are saying.

I wanted to point out on fact that coin should be distributed (almost) free or for low price due to already mentioned reasons but in order to prevent somebody from hoarding 90% we should connect it on some timeconsuming activities like marketing, writing articles in magazines, viral videos etc

If I find some time I make a video or some viral but I would have to be in a right mood, I am not able to say myself, today at noon you must come with something funny and shoot a viral video about coin called NEM.
It is not like this.
Sure I want to market this coin, I become an investor today Smiley

My take on the fake accounts "issue":

To gain a 1% share of NXT during ipo:
-Send .22btc from one account

To gain a 1% share of NEM during ipo:
- create 40 accounts
 - You have to be actively logged in to each new account for 4+ hours before you can post in the NEM thread.  This means 4x40 = 160 hours of login time
- send .4 btc-1 btc OR promote NEM in 40 different places

It's obviously significantly harder and more expensive for someone to gain a 1% share of NEM, compared to NXT

NEM launch is fairer than NXT launch.
- Some people gained a 4.5% share of NXT by sending 1btc at launch

- I highly doubt anyone will create the 180 accounts necessary to gain a 4.5% share of NEM
