MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
Is anyone else getting an unexpected error when trying to take vidz off of the PV site? I can't withdraw at all.

Seems PV is turning into an even larger scam if they have stopped withdrawals.

He has vanished

NOw this guy here his "team mate" is gathering additional funds.

I am shocked these escrows are touching this at all without investigating why PV just turned into an abandoned project.

it would probably be a good idea to follow the drama as it unfolded publicly. reading is a great skill in life i suggest you try it. this is not a pv thread so anything pv related other than burning should be kept to the pv thread no?

This is not a PV thread ....hehe

Sorry doesn't work like that Sad

He was part of the PV fund raiser. He only wanted out and to do things differently after the BTC was released?

If he is not a full on scammer he has made a big mistake in timing.

It works exactly like that.. for a so called legendary member you are not very bright are you? he parted ways with over 100 bitcoin worth of vidz, ask you last brain cell, if he was a scammer why didn't he sell. youre are a fun bunch.

But look here I am demonstrating it doesn't work like that. Here I am asking questions that I want to ask? Relating to Purevids because I believe I have the right to ask them in the context we are in.
Whether he is a scammer or not is not the only issue. You are making it the only issue.
I am asking questions related to the PV thread because he was part of PV. Those questions contrary to your opinion have bearing on this project.
He has answered the questions.
If I feel like asking further questions.... guess what will happen?

The fact the dev pot of coins has not been touched even at the ATH is not concrete evidence of no wrong doing. I will explain to you because you arrived here yesterday that with an ICO on this board you have no way to know who bought the rest of the coins.
You have no way to know the psychology of the people you are dealing with and their reasoning does not have to be inline with your own.
When you are not privy to all of the facts and details there are possible ways to scam you that you have not even started to dream about.

Sometime just because someone does not take the max reward possible from a scam does not mean it is a reason to invest. People used the same argument for john connor. Why not dump before the bad news and cancelling things they are still holding to their 40k sats coins at 5k.

Your simplistic argument for proof of non scammer is not essentially a guarantee for others to invest.

More investigation is required.

Eventually, these people will get tired of their worthless tirades. The truth will drown out the nonsense.

It is only a matter of time.

As a strategy for manipulating people's emotions, screeching accusations and the word scam over and over and over again has a limited amount of usefulness.

Moreover, fighting a battle on two fronts with such a small army will prove to be ineffective. There are supporters here, and supporters in VIDZ. Only a few spammy idiots. This is a war of attrition and we are winning.

The force is strong in the FUDsters. But I fear they are on the dark side of the force.

If they manage to shy only a few people away from investing, they will increase their own share. Oh yeah, I'm supposing they want to invest, because I don't really believe they are do-gooders just trying to help others.

That's the drawback of this type of ICO. If the shares were sold at a fixed rate that FUD would now make little sense.
It would come later, though, as soon as the coins are traded to push the price down and swallow up the dumped coins.

As long as there's an incentive to cheat people, it will happen.
All you can do is provide information and make people come to their own conclusions.

By fighting the FUD I'm shooting myself in the foot, because I will invest in this ICO. I just can't stand that shit. If the price for fighting the FUD is less atmos for me, so be it.

credibility's already in the gutter....

That rhymes with you, sir, are a FUDer.
Back to topic. How does that impact the credibility?
Can you please elaborate how finding the private key to that address in aeons (if it even exists) can damage Novus?

Code:
./vanitygen -X 71 VidzBurnAddrForTheNovusphere
Difficulty: 164888818503458230623158005923420463190199545920
[425.30 Kkey/s][total 9774848][Prob 0.0%][50% in 8.521553e+33y]

Only 8521553000000000000000000000000000 years on my computer to have 50% probability of finding a privkey!
Yay!

well that opens a whole can of worms....

cause that would mean, that these 7 million are not actually "burnt".......

Theoretically there could be a private key.
Practically this doesn't matter.
You know math?

Btw. even if there's a private key (not saying there is!), can you please elaborate how that can damage Novus?

credibility's already in the gutter....

Here, generate the address yourself
Code:
        public static string GenerateAddress()
        {
            // VidzBurnAddrForTheNovusphereXXXXXX
            // http://lenschulwitz.com/base58
            var b58 = "475EC824925BA678D0A6959C3C663582584F8FD101416B3D32";
            byte[] b58_bytes = new byte[b58.Length/2];
            for (int i = 0; i < b58.Length; i += 2)
                b58_bytes[i / 2] = byte.Parse(b58.Substring(i, 2), NumberStyles.HexNumber);

            var bytes = new byte[160 / 8 + 1 + 4];
            bytes[0] = 71; // version
            Array.Copy(b58_bytes, 1, bytes, 1, b58_bytes.Length - 1); // take the ripe160 part
            // update the hash checksum
            using (var sha256 = new SHA256Managed())
            {
                var checksum = sha256.ComputeHash(sha256.ComputeHash(bytes.Take(160 / 8 + 1).ToArray()));
                for (int i = 0; i < 4; i++)
                    bytes[bytes.Length - 4 + i] = checksum[i];
            }
            return Base58Encode(bytes);

Do you have any members in your development team? Or you are running a one man show?

I've already brought on two other developers and have another person handling the business side (registration, discussion with lawyers, etc.). If you'd like to talk with any of us on Discord simply look for those who are listed as a Novus Member.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply, and you do seem to indeed be fair in coin distribution.  (I may wait a few days before pulling some funds from elsewhere but will invest, with both bitcoin and vidz).

No problem, I'll add a disclaimer to the OP about it in case anyone has the same question in the future.

Does anyone know what it would take to create a working vanity address such as the burn address?

I think that would be case closed if they had any clue.

lol at some people here Cheesy

Why don't you just come out and say in in Plain English so we could all understand?

Cause from your tone, you are implying that this is bogus.....

Short answer: bogus.

so for every 10M that gets burned, I will register 1M of it
yeah exactly
wouldn't be fair if I didn't do something like that imo

Okay, after doing a search for a fragment of the above quote in Discord, I was able to find a clearer statement of yours:

Sorry if some of my replies come with a harsh tone but it's because I've answered these questions many times already especially on the Discord.

Many developers like Discord and Slack for whatever reason.  However, please keep in mind that really those reduce visibility to the public, compared to Bitcointalk threads.  So please keep posting here too.  Many of us have many other coins we follow, and Bitcointalk nicely has threads for each, all in the same place, without going to countless individual sites.

Aside from how I haven't checked how it may vary if having a smaller font, Discord seems to waste most screen real estate on other than the main feed.  Also, page up/down scrolling feels lagging and clunky.

----------------------

With that said, mild annoyance with Discord aside:

Thank you for your reply, and you do seem to indeed be fair in coin distribution.  (I may wait a few days before pulling some funds from elsewhere but will invest, with both bitcoin and vidz).

WHY CAN NOT ANSWER WHAT IS YOUR COUNTRY?

He is right not to answer that, as an answer on permanent record would only open up potential regulatory/legal risks, for no gain.

Whether this project succeeds or not is going to be determined by how hard and well he works in the future, not whether or not he is anonymous.

Some of the best crypto projects have anonymous developers, following in the tradition of Satoshi Nakamoto.

For instance, given what I know of FINCEN regulation, if I ever developed a cryptocurrency myself, I would do so anonymously and most especially without anyone knowing I am an American technically under their jurisdiction.

By the way, I doubt he is Russian, since, if he was, he wouldn't need to pay for a Russian translation.  He might be European, though, but it doesn't matter.

tl;dr get a quantum computer, if you want to calculate the private key for VidzBurnAddrForTheNovusphereZEZyC in your lifetime.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_computing

Longread:
As I don't know the code used for VIDZ addresses, I used plain BTC vanitygen.
Remarks:
  • In terms of complexity it shouldn't matter, which vanitygen code you use.
  • I couldn't enter the full length of the address. This was not supported. The full length increases the complexity.
  • This was run on a slow CPU. But even using GPU mining rigs wouldn't help much.

Code:
./vanitygen 1VidzBurnAddrForTheNovusphe
Difficulty: 164888818503458230623158005923420463190199545920
[419.84 Kkey/s][total 3038208][Prob 0.0%][50% in 8.632233e+33y]

50% probability in 8000000000000000000000000000000000 years (I hope I didn't mess up with the zeroes).
Increase the computing power by billions and you still have to try longer than the universe exists to have at least 50 percent chance to find a key.

The current estimated age of our universe is
13700000000 years, which looks tiny compared to calculating the private key for VidzBurnAddrForTheNovusphereZEZyC
8000000000000000000000000 years to have 50% when running at 419 * 10^9 kkeys/s (computing power increased by factor 1 billion compared to my CPU).

Keep in mind that I had to cut "ZEZyC", because it was too long. As I added "1" at the beginning, this reduced the string in total by 4 characters.

ZEZyCQ is the checksum, an address is
Code:
address = version + ripemd160(sha256(publickey)) + checksum

There is only ONE (1) transaction with 1 VIDZ, and that one was a spend from another address.

The burn address does not have a private key, it has no wallet, therefore it cannot stake.
